I just discovered this. It's a few years old now, but its a great casual game you can play windowed while doing other stuff. Think of it as a mix between civ and casual puzzle game like minesweeper. Try the trial below. You won't regret it. If you wanna buy it you can find it for $6, not the $20 on the outdated official site.

Here's the gamespot review: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy...vert&om_clk=gssummary&tag=summary;read-review

Here's the official site where you can download the trial: http://www.oasisgame.com/index.php

Enjoy!

Has anyone tried it yet? I really think civ fans will dig it. You explore, find cities, build roads, gather armies, develop technology and fight barbarians and each level only takes 3 minutes or so.

The tutorial mode took up most of the 1hr trial and I was hooked. I picked up the game from shockwave for $6.99: http://www.shockwave.com/gamelanding/oasis.jsp . They also have the trial there. It starts off easy, but it gets much more difficult.

Heard it's too addictive so no thx.

It's not that addictive. Nothing compared to civ. Each stage only takes a couple of minutes, so its easy to stop at those points.

Viral poster is viral!

It's basically an "anti-Minesweeper." Co-developed by Marc LeBlanc (former Looking Glass Alum)...he talks about it in detail when he was the guest of one of Warren Spector's game industry lectures.

It's a fun, polished game...just don't go in expecting something as deep as Civ.
