Isn't that easier? Especially if you got Astro first for a long time and AI's are fragmented into continents...well, they can't target your city and also if fragmented, less fear that a neighbour AI settles after razing.

Well, I was thinking of the map, similar to this one, only with you start isolated rather then been surrounded by AI's.
