Well, whoever wants to give a try at my avatar... No shiny things please.

This is probably a stupid question but how do you create the avatars so they are not square?

edit: Lyonesse, you're quite quick on the submit button, eh?
Civrules: I'm not too sure what you mean by "not square," but my guess is that you'd like to know how to make it transparent. Lyonesse has some excellent tutorials about this here for Photoshop.
And CivGeneral has a transparency tutorial for Paint here.

Sorry for the delayed response on both of your great work, RL put a drain on time. Otoh, seeing things back two weeks later only makes it more impressive!
I'll just try to describe what I have in mind now and hopefully you can make it!
- left upper hand corner: the planetary body arc as made by Lyonesse in post 84, middle pic with the beam at the center of the arc (instead of being offset to the left of the arc).
- behind that the nebula effect and faded scotty much like Raijers #80 post (without the central beam and shrubbery at the bottom). Scotty might appear to come from behind the nebula.
- If you can make it so that the planetary body seems to be just in front of the nebula![]()
