Old About Avatar's and How to get one!

Very nice Plexus, I was just wondering if you could use the Maple Leaf that Lyonesse had on the Grey shield that she made for me? I prefer that Maple Leaf, but that is pretty much exactly what I am looking for. if you are unable to use that Leaf, then I will go with that Avatar . . .

OK, I think it's about time for me to get a new avatar (not that anything's wrong with the old avatar).

I like the work done for RealGoober with the maple leaf, so I'd like some done with the leaf too, but with a difference. I want hockey involved.

I've got a few ideas running through my head, but I'm not quite sure which one I'd like.

My ideas are:

• A shielded version of one of RealGoober's avatars -- preferably the unstriped maple leaf in front of the sunset (just use that -- he won't mind) -- with crossed hockey sticks behind it,
• a maple leaf underneath centre ice with a pair of hockey sticks around it, or
• a maple leaf on a puck that is on the blade of a hockey stick.

I'm not really sure which one I'd like though. The 3rd one would look cool if it turned out the way I'm viewing it, but since I suck at drawing, I can't easily show you what I'm thinking of. If I could, I'd just do it myself and not post here. My first idea would probably be the easiest to do, but I'm still not sure which one I'd like. That's why I'm asking you guys.

Another interesting idea would be take RealGoober's striped maple leaf avatar, and replace the maple leaf with a pair of hockey sticks.

@lifeblood: I dunno, out of all those covers, I thought this one looked best, avatar-wise. What do you think?

@WillJ: the supplied images were so low-resolution that the only real way to clean them up and make them non-pixilated is simply to re-draw them. I took a shot at the smily, just to mess with Illustrator, which I need to do more of... Anyways, here's that attempt:

Wow that looks great, you're absolutely right. The Wake avatars that gorf made were too big in filesize and the cover is obviously not avatar material, too much like a painting. Well, it is a painting. Thanks Raijer.

The first one's not bad, but not quite what I was thinking of. It's probably best if we just drop that idea.

The second one's OK, but what I was thinking of was kind of like the zoomed-in view of the centre-ice circle (with the maple leaf under the dot) during the opening faceoff, but without the annoyance of having to include players into the avatar.

On the other hand, I am content with the Canadian hockey fan avatar that I now have, so don't stress yourself out over trying to make a new one for me and move on to other requests.

Thanks anyways. All of you make great avatars, and I am thoroughly impressed and grateful.

Ok, I have managed to isolate (I think) Lyonesse's leaf. If one of you people who can use a program slightly more advanced then paint could please put that leaf in place of the leaf that I currently am using I would be eternerally grateful. I am very proud of myself, I managed to use paint to get that leazf the way it is. Use all my skills for the next 3 years. Oh ya . . .

That looks great. But you think you could make the sunglasses a bit smaller? Maybe instead of having them go outside of the face, make it so that a small black line connects them to the edge of the face on each side (like in the original picture)? If you could do that it'd be perfect.
