@Lyonesse: On Page 20, I posted the leaf that I wanted, the on you make for me. Basically all you need to do would be to take that leaf, and stick it into the base Avatare, which Plexus posted. I prefer that leaf.

Thanks a Bunch!!!

Thanks a lot Lyonesse, exactly what I was thinking of. One problem: It is too big. I need it to be under 4096Kb apparently.

You are the best, thanks!!!

Ok, I finally have my dream avatar. Thanks you guys!!!

Hi! Can the good people of this thread make me an avatar of the Radiohead - Kid A part of the Kid A cover, or perhaps the flame on top of the mountain part - just the flame and peak.

That would be teh awesome.

Here you go, just look out for my pro-Bush subliminal messages planted into your avatar. ;)

Or am I? MWHAHAHA!

HELP!!

Seriously, I'm a bit puzzled so hopefully someone far more computer savvy than I can straighten me out. The problem I'm having is an apparent "weight gain" in file size that my avatars suffer when I upload them here to CFC.

For example, here is the information screen on a avatar file sitting on my desktop. Note that the file size is 4k. So far so good, yes?

screen1.gif

Next, I upload the file, link it up, and then that file is displayed here on CFC. Since I've gotten a few complaints that my files have been too large for avatar use, I decided to test things out. So I simply clicked on the image I uploaded and dragged it back onto my desktop. I then opened another information screen on that file and this is what I get:

screen2.gif

Now my file size is 32k!!! Where the heck did the other 28k come from? This happens to every file I drag off the site. For example, here's Lyonesse's avatar:

I KNOW that the file size is not 32k, and yet....

I'm sure the answer's simple, and there's something basic that I'm not understanding. Can anyone help?

that is just bizzare! I sent the link to the hubby, hopefully he'll have some kind of idea...I'll let you know if he has any ideas...(he's not much of a "Mac" fan but, who knows, he may have some ideas).

LOL hubby's reply...

I have no idea. It could be a file descriptor issue on his hard drive or padding that is put in anything downloaded to fill it out, etc. I just don't know enough about Mac's to tell you anything with any certainty.

was worth a try anyway...

maybe try posting a "new thread" on the issue, maybe someone out there in "Computer Talkland" can help ;)

That'd be nice, and one of these days...

Anyway, I do think it's a Mac deal. In order to double check this, if someone with a PC could drag the avatar image below to their desktop, check the file size, and then post the results here, I would very much appreciate it.
