On Moving or Staying

Gelion, I think you were referring to EQ's quote on Symphony D.
Ouch, yeah

Again, I'd put Reno or Gelion forward as candidates, both "retired" NESers that have continued to involve themselves in the forum's organization. (Through the Notice Board and NESing Guide, respectively.)
Thank you for the vote of confidence. While I continue to involve myself here, I doubt that having a NESing mod is a good idea overall. While it could be an enormous help administratively, actually moderating the forum would only complicate matters. I dont' know how Reno feels about it.

In a modern NES?

At the risk of taking this dangerously Off-Topic, a bare minimum of: USA (2), UK (2), France (2), Germany (2), Russia, China, Pakistan, India (1-2), Iran, Saudi Arabia, Israel, Brazil, Venezuela, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Australia. Then in addition, you should have around 5 scattered around Europe, 5 around the Americas, 5 in Asia, and 5 in Africa. This is around 41-42 players.

What about Japan? It is an important player in development of technology.

@Gelion, I've got a good six years of moderating under my belt, probably more than anyone else with the exception of Jason the King. Like I stated previously, experiences depend drastically on the moderator, and what that person can or cannot handle. Every moderator has a way that works for him, and in most cases broad statements rarely apply.

As for Other Games, if you want them in the community, just invite them over here. Advertise NESing on their forums and give links so they can take a look themselves.

I lately kind of had my mind changing towards moving to other games as a new area (like we have here)as a best solution.

BUT. For all people for a move, I wish to remind you that the NES community tried to move a long time ago to another forum and that move failed. Miserably. So we need to think twice before moving and before moving where to.

Moving within the forum however, doesnt require us to do ANYTHING. Thunderfall will make the changes.

After a week of collecting data I will open a polled thread discussing the merits of various location on this forum.

Fine, i'll open a thread and record votes in the op once people have submitted a response i deem valid?

I will have collected data so that discussion of where in the forum we should go will be over.

It doesnt need a comprehensive discussion if the data is conclusive.

The comprehensive discussion must precede the gathering of data (redundancy alert: this thread is that discussion. I cannot add to it substantially, admittedly).

Edit: Well, and that too.

Symp, your being very good at being negative, yet I fail how you are helping things progress at all.

Has a single person reconsidered their initial impression yet? (appart from in light of numbers in the cIV section?)

Well supposedly the intelligent thing would be to have a discussion, then have a vote with tracking enabled, and then simply throw out all the ones that didn't participate in the discussion. People shouldn't be allowed to have any input at all until they have been forced to actually examine the issues.

What about if you lurk can they not even vote?

Thankyou for only quoting half of what I said, and as to the "Other Games" section.. there are currently 12 people in the entire section, and I have been recording it.

In my opinion unwavering belief in the democratic process is no better than snapping a Nazi salute or praising comrade Stalin's virtues. If people don't care enough to contribute something meaningful or demonstrate that they're educated enough on the issues at hand, why should they be listened to? Because they just happen to be here? That's not a reason.

Well screw you dickhead

To get back to our original discussion.
What options do we have in the end?
- Move to Other Games (not the Colloseum, thank you Symphony)
- move to Civ4 (Stories and Tales)
- Dont move
Does anyone have anything else to add to the list?
