:confused: When I said that I meant dual class unit (land and sea) Kinda like Thorgrimms idea for the Tripod early on.

In my mod I have ripptides BTR-70 as an AAAV this will be the old Marine unit (that is if I can figure out what terrain file I removed to make the game crash:( :o ) Althrougth in the main file this will defintly be a modern Marine. To bad Firaxis won't put this in (I requested it for Conquests :D )

@thestonesfan: This thing is for attacking enemy beach heads along with acting as an APC.

BeBro my thanks again for making this unit as it is badly needed and will almost complete my Marine unit collection! All I need now is an AAAV;) BTW if you need data there are two threads with info back here somewhere.
 
Marine Corps to find out what terrain you are missing open the editor and it will tell you:)
 
Um, thats useless because I'm missing a terrain file (pcx) I overrode the terrain folder by replacing it with warpstorms terrain folder.

@BeBro: Are you going to release the AAV sepertly or with the mod itself?
 
Why would it be useless? If it tells you what file you are missing then you could find the file and put it in the folder.
 
BeBro i think the attack anim for the LVTP should be billowing smoke, then Marines coming out of the back and taking up firing positions around the track and firing their weapons. As this is the usual procedure on a hot landing beach.

That would be quite long attack animation though... many times it could have won, or lost before that was played :D

My mistake: I'm getting the error in the editor, as I'm having mega problems on my mod :rolleyes: . It gives me the same error as when the default animition is missing.:rolleyes:

Grey Fox yeah but real life is real life, and BeBro did not see how he could use the smoke angle, just providing info, i would still like to see that attack anim, as it would rock!! BeBro is the one to make it happen as he has the talent to make it work.

if there´s need for those, I could make some of them later, although I think ripptide will make some too (not sure).

About the attack anim, Thorgrimm´s idea sounds cool, but modelling and animating this woul be a nightmare. There´s also the size issue - the marines would be very small when on the same scale as the lvtp7. You woudn´t probably see much detail then on those soldiers.

I have a "normal" attack anim for now, with the mg firing.

For the release - hm, I heard its x-mas soon, so it is time for gifts :mischief: ;) I could release some units even when the scn is not finished.

Here´s a preview of said AMX13. In the foreground there is a British Scimitar light tank/recon vehicle. It belongs to the same family of vehicles as the Scorpion (ripp has made one in desert camo) but has another gun (30mm instead of the Scorpion´s 76mm).

I think you and rip must be premiere unit makers - excellent quality, if, only, slow output! :D I think you guys should quit your day jobs to do this full-time - it's your duty to the community after all!

Keep up the good work, and build me a t-60/62 (soviet light tank/vietnam era - :D info and pics on request) :goodjob:
 
I tried a lot now for the LVTP´s fidget. The problem is that is hasn´t big moveable parts like a big turret. I tried to animate the small mg turret, but that is hardly visible. Below is what I use now - since it is a tracked vehicle it can turn on the spot.

Should I keep this? Since the fidget plays only sometimes (and only once then) it would look as if the driver is doing some manoeuvres, eg. to move in a certain position.

Well fidget isn't all that important, so I would say get rid of it if you don't like it. IMO it looks odd, and should be gotten rid of, course you have final say.
