Onan's Speed-Optimized GMR Game

We don't think Roman general will proceed to the forest.

It's true, we don't want to over extend ourselves, and the Great Wall would make it a long battle, on his turf. Our armies are stretching our budget, and the Senate does not really want all these troops returning to Rome.

Caesar will meditate on the most prudent course of action.

In other words, speak to the other great rulers, who have more cash than the strapped Roman Empire, and you may finding your vengeance fully funded! :D

I was looking at this and have made one small deal but truthfully everyone needs to build up their gold coffers.

The upgrade cost is so expensive one Archor to Xbow is 100+, War chariot to Knight is 90. Treasury is dry now, need another GA.

Celebrations are stirring in Dublin, beneath the heel of the Aztec overlords. The people assist Roman troops with the best approaches to the city, and laugh openly at the fleeing Aztec general and his few remaining troops. Liberation is at hand! Caesar will return your city to you, fellow Plainsmen!

Roman knights pursue the last Aztec troops, in full rout for the safety of their Wall.

The city walls of Dublin are beginning to crack under the merciless assault of the Roman Ballistae. How can the Aztecs not stand and fight to protect their own citizens from the Roman onslaught? We Songhai may have overestimated the abilities and sanity of Montezuma. It may be time for us to retreat back into our huts and build even more religious buildings until the unrest passes.

I splitted my forces in 2 groups, 1 defending the east side point against the yellow russians. But these knights are stronger than my units so i had no choice but to retreat.

Tip : Stop building religious things and help me to defend the south-east part of the map against the evil romans!

Rome is weak right now...he needs a coupe of turns to bring back some units...just saying :)

We don't need to bring any back, we just make more to replace those lost at the front. :goodjob:

Wow, propaganda fail, calling the world's top army 'weak'.

I got an error submitting the turn. Awaiting instructions on whether to replay, send debug log, or what. Thanks Mel.

edit: hmn, when I went to play a different game turn, I noticed a turn 81 Roman save in the directory. I thought maybe it just hadn't grabbed it properly, so I submitted that save manually via the website. Hopefully that works fine!

Retry it, if it fails again then send me the debug logs. I know Brian just published an update to the website in the last half-hour or so, when we do that it takes the site "offline" for a very brief moment. But there's a chance you tried to submit during that interval.

Good luck! :)

I'll see if the one I manually uploaded on the website works for E, first. Since the save was there, from what I can tell, the client just wasn't successful uploading it.

Not the army, the city of Rome(at this moment) ;) A lone warrior came pillaging a tile 2 turns ago

How can i make propaganda with these demographics numbers :( (Some serious production, gpt and tech rate in there)

Unless someone built Manhattan Project, Rome will be safe. It is the only city that can reach Thebes with nukes as I recall. Don't remember the settings, but nukes allowed, right?

I have never used a nuke before. Does it have a range promotion? Does it require vision of the city to launch? Can air sweep provide vision for nuke? I play very few game till late era, either abandon them or win early in SP.

Nukes? You are the closest. You don't need nukes, you need artillery :mischief:

I was thinking defensively. Artillery will still be at equal fight, but nukes aren't. Not mean to take Rome, but when nukes are out, it's better to strike preemptively before nukes fall on our precious capital. Until then, Egyptians are peaceful creatures.

Will the Roman leader care to sign a non nuclear aggression pact between two of our great nations?

Egyptians are determined to go tall instead of wide. So artilleries will be used defensively. We will match the highest military leader closely, and put the rest of hammer and money into more science and happiness.

Wise decision. Monty has to learn from other leaders into this game. Psychopaths are not tolerated

But look at our shiny new circus! It has dancing bears and clowns! We Songhai will listen to Monty's words and start building a small United Nations peacekeeping force to monitor the situation in the Southeast. If we see that innocent civilians need protection then we will act, but so far all we see is Dublin rejoicing in its liberation by the Romans.

It is easy to talk about going tall when the Egyptians already have 4 great city sites including a Capitol on the river next to a mountain. The rest of the world is still in a dark age, fighting tooth and nail to get a few scraps from the table that the Egyptians and Romans are leaving us!

Songhai prophets have had a vision of this nuclear bomb that the crazy Egyptian leader is spouting off about. Nuclear weapons do not require the ability to view the city. It just needs to be in range. The prophets also believe that these bombs can not be upgraded because they can only be used once. Fortunately, our prophets also believe that with the deserts and lack of iron in our home, it is very likely that Songhai will find new resources in the future such as glowing green goo, black viscous substances that burn steadily, and flexible metal that is lighter and more durable than iron.
