One more time... The Forbidden Palace.

Where shall we build the Forbidden Palace? (If we War with the Iroquois)

Mr. Wolf, I mean no disrespect but............ ;)

Building the FP in Veii would be somewhat akin to the US building it in Fallujah. It will be quite some time before the wartorn region would be productive enough to merit the FP. Yet we have The FP ready to go in a developed area, and will be able to immediately enjoy its benefits. Building it in Veii will not be worth the looooong wait.

As for your war plans, Provo, I have no problem with making an example out of a nation that has the audacity to attack us. I just don't think we should base our Domestic policy on as yet uncertain military gains.

Even if the FP gets built where it is, it's not gonna help much. It's so close to the palace, that its' effects will be negligable. This is vanilla Civ3 corruption, not C3C corruption.

It seems like the localization of the FP is more religion and pride, and less strategy, they are only 7 tiles away each other. What has people been thinking ?
Self Aggrandizement ?

If only I knew what the word meant. ;)

We don't own Veii, and may never own it.

Build it in Odawara.

CT and I are on the same page...hmmm. I need to mark this day in my calendar. j/k!

With CT's luck in getting Great Leaders (we are Militaristic and the Heroic Epic is built!) we will probably get 1 or 2 GL's this campaign and have no problem hurrying the FP in Veii. I really don't see a problem here.

I agree with Donovan on this one. It's far too late to be having this discussion. The FP in Odawara is 1 Shield from completion!! It would be different if there was less already invested in the Wonder. It would be different if we actually owned Veii. It would even be different if we were actually at war with the Iroqouis, which--just to remind everyone--we're not.

Even if the FP isn't placed in the most perfect, strategic position, it will still have a positive impact on our nation. Especially in its current location, where it will eleviate the corruption in our most productive province.

I don't see how people could support the idea of abandoning a practically complete Wonder--a Wonder that will bring significant gains for our civilization--for an uncertain future location that may or may not help us as much as our current one.

.....and the world as we know it inexplicably halted on its axis and slowly drifted off into deep. cold space.

Once again, as we try to think as a nation of citizens instead of knowledgeable Civ players, this Domestic policy makes no sense. And now we are trying to base our decisions on the legendary luck of our perennial President. Should we get the aircraft carrier and flight suit ready?

Besides that, Odawara is homegrown while Veii is not. Odawara won the last poll by over 50%, so this repoll is unneccessary. While close to our capital, Odawara is still a great location for a nation not bent on soulless continental domination. So are we going to act like a bunch of robot gamers, or as a nation of individuals that ratifies sound domestic policy?

Time will tell.........

Legendary luck. It seems the only time I ever GET Great Leaders is during demogames... Although I've gotten more recently in a recent game. (Then again, I just let Russia send 100 cossacks my way against 50 immortals.)

Blame it on the Eclipse. That same eclipse that broke a certain curse. Or just blame it on the breaking of that curse.

Hm... I'm thinking that CT probably won't get any GLs this TC. Leaving me with Plenty of Elites to play with. :D

I would like to ask how this poll is going to be interpreted. We have 8 people saying to build it in Odawara, but we also have 10 people saying NOT to build it in Odawara. Does this mean we have to poll whether or not to build it there separatly? A majority of the consensus felt that it should not go there (granted, as did a majority feel it should not go in Veii), but these are some tricky terms to deal with. Am I the only one who sees it this way?

Not all, SaaM. We have let plurailty rule on policy polls since this game's inception, and on more contentious issues than this one. If you do want to consider the majority opinion, you only need look to the last FP poll where Odarawa got over 50% of the total vote. This is something that Veii was not able to do in the first FP poll.

Well, this only means we may relocate our capital in the future, no big deal, we just need to expand in a different direction.

Which is doubtful considering the isolationist sentiment that's taking over...

Do you think Cyc wants to see his city become more corrupt?

Judging by the poll, my cutting the red tape will be constitutional. Though standing here with the scissors for so long while you people argued was quite tiring. ;)

*snip*

Horray!

Isolationist? How is keeping a nation small and strong isolationist?

I can think of no other way to isolate others than to pick off your neighbors one by one. How are we going to make friends that way?

If I am lucky enough to be elected FA, then I will spend my term combatting the true isolationists.....by extending a hand out to all the nations who hate us. And at last check, that was just about everyone.

For those who intend to jump on my comment, I do consider the Iroquois war just if they start it.
