Online petition for an updated Civ III editor

You mean "we have no plans", right?

:(

 What, are you tring to make me even mnore depressed?

BTW, my reply was:

"Hi Eric,

Thank you for your swift reply. It's a shame really - even just being able to map to the APIs would have made quite a few people happy. Please do keep me in mind should circumstances change.

My Best Regards,
(etc.)"

by the way ozymandias you should have been a smartass and replied "Well could you make plans?"

Ah Dear Fellow,

In my experience, flaming in the corporate world is akin to seeing one of the greater apes fling dung at the zoo: the entertainment value is very brief, the memory rarely forgotten, and the impression indelible.

Best,

Oz

 very quick on the letter back to me. Good point, maybe should stop and think what would happen before I hit the send button

Sorry amigos :( :

"Thank you for writing to 2K Games. At this time we have to plans to release the source code for Civ III.

Sincerely,
Eric"

Thus ends this effort.

*sigh*,

Oz
Although this news is disheartening at least we know for sure that Take2 is in control of the source code. and desicions about it.

Have we already talked to Take2? or rather has someone already talked to them?

:nono: Pay attention! (:joke: ) Yes, emails have been exchanged. Check out my posts 500, 520, and 522 for the full, sad, brief history.

Best,

Oz

I didn't take the time to read the all of the 500+ posts, but I'm going to put my two sense in anyways. I want to be able to carry land/air/sea(before you say it, I mean the LCAC) transports on a ship, I want to see a smarter AI, I want to see some of the old Civ II traits put back into the game (i.e. selling military equipment in diplomacy, caravans, bribing units), and I want to see ammo carriers, supply trucks, medics, and repair vehicles actually utilized in a way other than looking pretty or used as cannon fodder. I would like to have the nuclear weapon option improved upon so that I can have an actual nuclear bomber. I would like to use the V-2 as just a tactical missile instead of having to select the nuclear weapon tag so the animations will run right. I also liked the civil war trigger when you conquer an enemy capitol from previous civ games. That's all I have to say. Hopefully it's not too much to ask.

You know building the nuclear bomb is most of the work not the actual plane.

one thing I would like to see is lets say we have sea trade on, well I want a trade route defined and ships automatically traversing the seas with supplies but you can change the path of them. This is so you could stop shipments by sinking the trade ships

In other words you want a complete rewrite of the game.

Just go by a different game.

Thanks for all your work on this oz, and sorry we haven't been more successful yet.

Hopefully Jones finds something to keep this going

You're welcome :)

Sadly, having (among my many hats) had some dealings with the Canadian government - plus given what seems to be the nature of the deal between the Canadian government and 2K - I wouldn't hold my breath, although I certainly wish his efforts Godspeed!

Best,

Oz
