Only the main menu globe visible

I'm sure this bug has been mentioned somewhere sometime but there seems to be so many technical problems relating to Civ4 right now that I didn't find anything useful.

The problem is that I first see a completely green screen. Then when I click my mouse I'll see a globe and clouds and hear the background music but that is where I can get. I'm stuck with the friggin' globe! I don't receive any error messages.

My system specs:

AMD Athlon XP 3000+
512 MB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 (256MB)

Any solutions?

Nobody else has this problem? This is very frustrating.

Scroll down to the unpacking the Art Pack File section, after doing that it should work.
