Opening problems, then assumes I have a DVD version?

Meep. I've been working on this for the last two hours, and I'm finally throwing in the towel and asking- no, begging- for help. I've searched the forums, read some threads, and can't find an answer.

So I install Civ IV on my E:\ partition. (Note here, that I have the CD Version) Takes a while, tra-la-la, click to open it after rebooting. First time I try, I have disk two inserted, but a brief but frustrating trip to their shoddy support site fixes that problem.

So I click again! It goes through the loading, then the loading bar, then hits a snag. The screen goes jumbled (Pixels, random blobs) and there's a clicking sound, like a skipping CD. Can't ctrl alt del, can't click out... So I reboot manually.

Okay! said I, let's patch. So I go and find the patch at the official site, download it. Same thing. Okay. Let's double check our drivers. Do that, install right off the GEForce site.

Same problem.

So I uninstall, and reinstall.

No such luck.

Okay, let's.. repatch. Yeah! Second time's a charm!

So I do so, redownloading the patch.

Double click to start after rebooting..

PLEASE INSERT DVD 1.

...Wait! I have the CD version! But.. but..
Argh.

I'm so confused.

Attatched is my DxDiag, make of it what you will.

Brilliant. Now my D:\ drive has disapeared.

Is your hard disk for drive D: connected through an add-on card (like Ultra-ATA)? Go to Device Manager, right click the top icon(your PC), select "Scan for hardware changes". It may bring your D: back.
