i consider myself to be pretty solid in chess openins. i have a basic knowledge of at least everone. i am now just starting to get into the world of gambits.

for anyonw who plays chess, what opening do you use, or what opening do you like to use?

i like a mix between scotch/danish gambit/italian. im wondering if anyone knows what im talking about the main line is:

1.e4 e5
2.Nf3 Nc6
3.d4 pxp
4.c3 pxp
5.Bc4 pxp
6.Bxb2 Nf6
7.o-o(castle kingside. queenside is o-o-o)

of course, black does not always do that, and white is down 2 pawns, but it is worth it for the development.

what do you guys think? post other ideas here.

Well i love chess and i'm pretty good at it. I don't know any Strategies for chess, i use my own(i think they're my own

) But i usually win. I play chess sometimes on the Zone.
We should get a game sometime.

yes, definitely. we should go to yahoo or zone or something to play. also chat. we could have everyone get together. that would be fun.

I don't know what you're talking about, but I want to. If you guys play chess regularly, I'll read some of my chess books at home and give you a few games. I don't know anything now, but I learn new things quickly, so if you fancy teaching me....

Blitz

(PS I know how to play, but not any 'moves')

[Go to MSOWorld.com which is the Mind Sports Olympiad, containing the international championships of about a zillion games. I only train in memory, but I've heard they have a good chess following.]

yoiu go ahead and read all the chess books you want, blitz.

i guess the reason why i became a conservative was, i dont like big gov. and i think democrats are stupid. (no offense to any democrats out there

). my parents are republicans, so i sort of followed them too. i wrote a big thing on taxes, in your real world forum, but couldnt post it

if i were to teach you anything in chess, it would have to be in a game. if you want a few good books to read, get Yasser Seirawan's series, published by microsoft. they are good.

hey, this description applies to me also. I haven't read any chess book and don't know fancy names for those moves. I was the president & best player of my high school chess club. It's been a while since I last play it...

. I never progressed beyond begineer. Against much better player, I do not attack, but build a solid defense in the middle and one side with interlocking fields of fire, and see hold long it takes the opponent to batter their way thru it. Sometimes they foul up and hurt themselves so back I can counterattack with supiror force.
