***Rome***
Rumours have begun to circulate that there have been disturbances in Rome during the night. Information is limited by the destruction of the road network but there is some credibility that fighting has broken out in the capital

***North Africa***
A breakaway Italian unit abandoned their defensive units and allowed a road to be destroyed by allied operatives.

***Southern France***
The expected retaliation against allied advances has failed to materialise. It is believed that the Italian troops on the ground are refusing to fight.

***Northern Africa***
Clear skies at night as bomber flight crews wait for orders to attack.

***Rome***
Latest reports indicate that fighting has indeed occurred. Intelligence indicates shots were heard at midnight around Mussolini’s headquarters. Fighting then broke out as news spread as loyal troops fought against fellow troops stationed in the city. It is believed that these rebels wish to overthrow the government and put an end to Italy’s involvement in the war.

***French Temporary Command***
An urgent council meeting has been called. It is believed that there are discussing a message received from a new government in Italy that promises to answer the cries of the population for peace. It is unclear what the French response will be.

***London***
Following the French an urgent meeting has been called further adding to the rumours. Unfortunately it seems it was too late to delay orders of further bombardment. Many people may have lost their lives today because of a delayed message.

***Rome***
A new government has been announced as reports pour out from the Italian capital. News at the fronts are of weary enthusiasm, happy for the hope of going home but dreading that the war will continue if the new government fail with their peace proposals.

***French North Africa***
Troops move home. French forces began the long march home after new orders were received. The French have agreed to end hostilities after the news of the regime change. The Italian and French populations celebrated this news as a signification of a return to peace.

***London***
After days of tense negotiations and rumours of a large division in parliament it seems that a decision has been to accept Italy’s generous concessions.

***Italian border fronts***
Troops move home. Southern France will be handed over to temporary English rule as troops left to return to their homelands. Tripoli would also be handed over for a chance of peace once again.

***Rome***
New government celebrates successful peace negotiations after such a short time in office. Elections are planned to be held soon as Italy begins the task of rebuilding the damage that it has seen and welcomes home their troops. The temporary government has stressed that they will never again enter a conflict against the wishes of the people and also that they wish to remain neutral and hope the rest of Europe will follow their example. It will take time to rebuild but hopefully it will lead to a greater Italy that has learned from this terrible experience of such a large scale war.

Mussolini is believed to have been assassinated although no confirmation has been forthcoming from the new Italian government. The official statement is that he disappeared in the night and that fighting was limited.

So, this means that we (Germany) stand alone? All you guys have left to defeat is a strong German force in the Balkans (prolly my strongest with fewest actual conscripts) and a line of mostly consrcripts along the western front.

Yeah essentially its the end of the game not sure if there is any point in carrying on. Perhaps there is some scope for everyone to gang up against the British and French but the Russian forces would take weeks to cross the German territory to actually be useful and its not very realistic.

Like I said, I knew I was defeated when I was unable to push into Spain and help them out... Nevertheless, I will continue as long as others feel they also want to... If this wasn't a locked alliance scenario and I wasn't the Nazis I would be persuing some sort of peace agreement and try to figure out a way to survive. I am almost certain that all Britain has to do is push forward and they will continue to gain ground...

BK

So I take it that this is done then?

If so, I would chalk this one up as an allied victory...I wish we wouldn't have got Spain involved so early...

I will also post some more thoughts on possible changes if Rcoutme requests that I do so...right now I have to go see my Calc Prof...

Yes...Britain's help from America and the oppurtunity of landing in Spanish territory to get onto the continent sped up the speed at which the game would be finished...

I still personally feel that there should be more factories... Also, perhaps a heavy infantry 8.13.1, medium infantry 10.11.1, and a light infantry 11.7.2. Shield cost could be nearly equal for all 3.

And also, just a suggestion, but add a special unit to represent the Bismark...it should take 2 British Battleships at full strenght to defeat it...it shouldn't be just another battleship...So, maybe you should have 2 or even 3 different classes of Battleships (minor detail, but just a thought).

BK

CONGRATS TO THE ALLIED VICTORY!!!

I don't really agree with the last idea of making the Bismark stronger. It was still only a battleship, just that events happened to make it successful. What I'm trying to get at is that the game shouldn't force historical accuracy on the players.
