Orc Wolfrider (06/17/06)

If you ever needed proof that laziness, not necessity, is the mother of invention, then this is it. Instead of taking the time to learn to model and animate wolves, orcs and combination of thereof I decided to take the easy way out (at least for now) and just replaced the horse with the wolf.

The results aren't perfect. For one the wolf moves like a horse, luckily with all that fur and the big wolf head, it's not very noticeable (though if you compare the two side by side the difference is obvious). In addition, it took literally some twisting and turning to get the front legs to look right, and they still don't really do.

I provide two units here. One is the horsarcher on a wolf - this is basically the first experiment trying to do this. It's not very polished and obviously I haven't touched the horsearcher himself. The Orc Wolfrider is a second generation of this type of unit and I think I got the wolf to look better and obviously to have a bit of fun I actually turned the rider into an orc (and gave him a nifty new axe). This unit is based on the Companion Cavalry and so uses its animations (the horsearcher on the wolf uses, oddly enough, horsearcher animations ).

I spend half a day putting a rider on a wolf, and you're asking for the wolf alone :suicide:
Actually this is the same wolf that's available in vanilla, so it already comes without a rider. If you like this wolf's animations better then you can just open one of these units in NIF viewer and just remove all the extra stuff (rider, weapons, etc.).

Well since we don't have boars this'll be in for orc boarriders, Rabbit. Maybe later we'll put a goblin on the wolf too so we have almost the whole greenskin cavalry done! Didn't expect anything like that so fast, big thx! Leads me to the next point Can you think of making a chariot too(with gobbos and another with orcs)?
The goblinchariot and goblinrider are WH-Units. Orcs usually ride on boars but I think we won't get boars that fast so the orcs will be in the mod for a long time I guess(and for Kael I suppose they'll be in forever so it won't be in vain for sure).

Image/idea of an Orc riding on a big bad wolf is much older than Warcraft (and probably its creators as well ), so the answer would be no.
