Organising our Team

btw, I found the WOA quote about the foodstuffs.

For the first settler it is not a concern at all, it must be build before the granary. For later settlers i am not sure yet when i will build a granary.
Only when the production exceeds the food for settler production in the city so that after the granary, it can catch up the lost time.

A new city is worth 3fpt.
A granary helps me from 4 to 6.7 fpt for a net 2.7fpt.
And a granary takes longer to build.

Note that while a granary will make the 3th 4th etc settler come earlier, that first new city will also be producing food and thus new settlers and workers that now come earlier.
In this stage of the game, the only matter is optimizing your total fpt. (well, in multiplayer, commerce also has a somewhat increased significance, but i decided that while increased it still is very insignificant compared to food since Gozpel wont be doing the full rep slingshot anyway)

I have not done this in an excel sheet because this is a very clear case of settler before granary. I may calculate it more precise for later settlers when the time is there and when i know exactly when and where i am gonna settle my next cities. Excel only decided yet that i will build only 1 warrior.

He was playing as an AGR civ in that game so this applies directly to us.

I made up a spread sheet to automatically calculate the decision based off of Wacken's principles. Let me know if you see any glaring anomalies

Maybe we should organise a forum game or something while we are waiting

What are you thinking? War games of some sort?

I'm up for a 3-way if anyone else is interested.... gma? :P

no seriously I would like a 3-person game. no diplo of course just royal rumble style. with the cage match and the bloody hair like Nature Boy & Hulk Hogan used to have

For it Tubs :)

sure...

what kind of map? pangea or peligo? AI or not? everything else should be middle of the road in my opinion.

I choose the Chinese

I didn't have anything particular in mind, just something to keep us entertained while we wait for the game to start. I'm sure BC has a lot of ideas:)

I'm not sure I follow the whole discussion here about who's doing what, but if there's a seat left in the end, I'll sit ;)

BeF, maybe play some turns in our SGOTM, if you are too free

I haven't played any MP in Civ3, so that would be a nice addition...

I was being serious about a 3-way game. I need help in MP games. I can MM decent enough, but the war aspect is what kills me literally.

as stated before I don't mind playing such a game as well...and I am someone who has his whole family back home and will be a little wee lonely over xmas and new year

Can't help with your little wee bit being lonely...

I'm interested in a C3C pbem too. We have Tubby as China, I'll take the Celts. What civ do you want? Anyone else want in? I'd say tiny map if it's just 3 people, small otherwise. If you just want to tune up on warmongering we could play one of the predetermined "hub" type maps which are known to be symmetrical. Otherwise I guess pangaea with middle of the road settings.

ok, I would go for Ottomans then to see what advantage the other team enjoys...

I've been playing Ottos in a deity SP game. It appears to me that playing an industrious civ will be quite a bit different feel. Count me in for a MP game and I'd like to play one of the industrious civs.

Well I just wanted to get a feel how Chamnix would play it. There may be a benefit to playing all five civs.
