Orion's Aviation Mod for C2C v18

@Hydro:

1. GIMP is being very disagreeable about installing on my computer, so I can't make buttons atm, That and the Combat Workers DLL wants to ruin my game as well.

2. Alpha channels were the only things I couldn't do right on the buttons, so I'm pretty sure I can't add ones to existing buttons. Sorry.:blush:

1. Hmm weird. You should ask in a GIMP forum on why its acting up.

2. You should be able to load the existing dds files into DXTBmp and then apply the alpha channel I posted. Then save over the same file.

I don't have DXTBmp. I only used GIMP, and I couldn't do Alpha channels in that.:(

@Hydro:

Man that tool is nice! Why haven't I noticed it before?:confused:

Oh well I'll see if I can find time to fix the aviation buttons, my time is limited for the moment, and I'm also learning SDK, so that is taking a good amount of time as well.

Button making is not hard to learn. And if GIMP doesn't work Afforess even suggestion in the tutorial that you could use MS Paint if you needed too.

When editing unit textures I have 3 programs open, DXTBmp, MS Paint and Photoshop. I use DXTBmp to export the dds texture to MS Paint. Then I select all of the image and then copy and paste into Photoshop (GIMP works the same). I do my edits and then I paste back into MS Paint. Save the file in MS Paint and then import it back to the DXTBmp.

Its a bunch of steps but it works. I also use NifSkope to view the model without having to load up the game. This really helps if I need to re-tweak the texture. Typically I do one section at a time and then keep editing the Photoshop image and then following the importing cycle from Phtotoshop to DXTBmp.

Note the only reason I even use Photoshop is that it has layering tools and better brushes. If not for that MS Paint would do just as well.

GIMP works with a plugin.

@SO:

Here are the buttons Hydro requested redone, please add them to the FPK. Thanks.

If they are replacing existing ones, all you need do is put them in the same place in the art folder and they will overwrite them for all of us and when SO gets enough to warrant a new FPK they will be included. Just saying.

Oh, I though FPKs were loaded before unPAKed files, but if it's the other way around I'll just add them myself.
