This is your typical endgame city:

Now this is Australia's Version:

Blinked? Here is a normal city:

Now that city with a few well placed outbacks:

Australian Capital without outbacks:

Point being: Outbacks rocked if they can be stacked well together. Even just adding a few in with your city makes it oh so nice! They do compete with Farms so place carefully!

Also try to keep a "district zone" for the adjacency bonuses and to avoid colliding with farms and outbacks.

I actually like that superficial effect more than Australia's actual, mighty bonuses. It's very satisfying.
 
It also while just a cosmetic thing, it actually reflects Australia as a civ really well, as I said in my article ... [shameless plug]
