Overpowered Evil English

exactly, however 1640 as a domination victory seems...late. Probably because it was not the goal from the beginning but most of the game was just "woah, England is powerful, lets have some fun with them" :D

Yes, this is my philosophy: these SVN are not balanced game anyway, so why not? My overpowered play record can help Leoreth to balance the game. And we have little chance to improve the AI anyway, so why be serious? There couldn't be any challenging game, unless we make a multiplayer version.

So according to this if the English were even MORE evil they'd have done even better. Let me go to back in time and let them know.

In reality, a unit of settler in 14-16th century, is not like to found a city instantly with granary, forge, aquadect, lighthouse, harbor, market and 150000 pops, without costing extra gold, and they can make half of their people in 5-10 years to another units of settlers, and produce another city with 150000 pops.

Another strategy:

1. Switch to Theocracy+warrior code, stay Agrarianism for extra pasture hammer and work rate.
2. Starting army go capture Viking workers and maybe a city (i.e. Malmo with only 1 archer), Settler and missionary follow the army.
3. Settler found Tallin or Riga or Helsinki. Gift the captured city to French to prevent Viking recapturing it, you can't defeat them yet. One galley stay near your Baltic city.
4. Homeland build pagan temple(chop them ASAP) - warrior - barracks, Southampton and Newcastle build stable.
5. Make peace with Vikings, 1 longbowman and captured worker and 2 galley back home. Have 2 units in Southampton boarded.
6. Find chance that French found Brest or build dye plantation, assault! Capture workers, conquered Viking city(like Malmo) and raze Brest.
7. Switch to slavery, mercenary and buy an army to conquer or capitulate France.
8. Buy galleys in Marseilles and go conquer Egypt.

Correction:

7. Make peace with French first, for Viking will very likely to take back their land from you around 990 AD. So buy 2-4 knights first and conquer them when peace treaty expires.

8. Board knights to return to England, and capture Dublin around 1020, when it grows to 2.

9. Switch back to agrarianism and levy armies when your treasury dries up.

10. Kill French after peace treaty expires. They may have pikemen now but not strong enough yet, so be quick.
