We are losing this in SG... I can play remaining turns, but I dont thing that anything will change :sad:
 
I don't think frowning smileys are in order, Smart. That one was a killer, and we got shot. Can't always win when you're against all odds ... that's what the ods tell isn't it? :lol:

I have an idea about peacefull SG - cultural 20k victory, player can caprute, get via peace treaty or culture flip only one city per turnset. If somebody takes an interest in my suggestion, i can start it tomorrow :rolleyes:
 
A late loss with the 360 degree front wouldn't be a surpirse, but I was surprised by the early loss. Good effort everyone. I would try it again, except that'd be silly on the same map. Perhaps another AW? Peaceful games are good, but AW is fun too. Maybe AW+20k? Or some AW variant (XCC, despot, no armies (:eek:), or something). Or AWD tiny continents, or even small continents?
 
I'd like a XCC AWDG+ 'pelago as the Vikings. I've just longed building tons of zerkers for a short while and I ended up winning too fast for zerks when I tried it on EMP.
 
Hey, since we're on a brainstorm: I've just started an AWM huge pangea, full opponents, on SP. T70 and everything is sweet. Perhaps we could give that a shot.
 
If we are going for AW, then lets try AWD or mb :eek: AWS :eek: small pang/continents.

Ideas for peacefull SG's:
  • Builder's variant - huge continents, DG, space victory.
  • Cultural variant - standart continents, DG or Emp, cultural 20k victory, 5CC or (5+1)-CC
  • Diplomatic vatiant - standart or small continents, Emp, diplo victory, OCC. It will be fast, because of OCC.

Also we can create two SG's - AW, and peacefull :rolleyes:

1) Surely this game was winnable at 4000 BC. Besides the walls, what else could have been done?

2) Would you be interested to hear the results if I played the next 10 or 20 turns from here to see what happens?
 
One thing that struck me as plausible was to found Delhi 2NE, Bombay and Madras on iron hills, Bangalore on Gold. Those would make pretty powerful cities. Of course, it is post-game spoiled info, but it would help a bunch.

We also could have used catapults early on. Walls would help, but javs are 30 shields, so we should have been able to keep up. I'll certainly replay this map sometime.
 
City placement left room for improvement. Problem with this game is 360 front as Own said, and close AI with powerfull and early UU. JT are just 20 shields as far as I know. Combined with not being very fortunate in times. Could play this one again though.
