could we add more palace like buildings for other civics. because seeing democry with palace building is a bit:p

.what about having buildings who will replace all the other palace like building when you change civic
for example
anarchism= elder house
monarchy= palace
corpor nation= corporation HQ

Palace is just the name of building where authorities rule. I think renaming that building is not a good idea cause player by the mistake will built it and replace his capitol. It will be very annoying...

my suggestion is like this
people start with anarchism. instead of palace they will build their own civic governance palace like building like elder house
when you change civic a new palace like building will be buildable which will replace the previous and will need the previous palace building

Would it change anything other then the name? If not I don't see the point a palace does not directly show the government either, it is an expensive home where the government is administrated, the white house could probably technically be called a palace.
Heck after looking it up the British Parliament technically meets in a palace, so yeah I see no point to this at all.

Part of this is that in every civ game since the very beginning your capitol building has been the Palace. I personally don't want to go and start changing that now.

I think he meant just a text change, not changing the actual building tag.

no i meant different buildings with will have different effect (house of parliament for democrasy,Imperial palace for monarchy....... ) that will have differend effects(one will make the people more happy ,other less happy) and will work as a palace replacing thep previous palace building

@bill

It is a lot easier to add this effect to civic screen than to code entire structure of new building.

it could be interesting but we already have + in capital bonuses, so why would they need to be linked to the palace?

That is interesting, but historically some places have several capitals, typically De Jure and De Facto, though sometimes more, and for different reasons, (If memory serves South Africa has three currently) so, perhaps if that is done the secondary and tertiary capital buildings should get bonuses of their own depending on civics, it could be interesting to say the least

We could probably do something like the palace building in the mongoose mod. I also like the leader changing form that mod
