Passive-Agressive Only defence Domination

[lurk]Why don't you guys try building research in some cities to help with the beakers until you can improve the economy and increase the slider

[/lurk]

building pyramids (with stone) is better, either you get it or you get your hammers back as cash at twice the wealth conversion rate

Our economy is ok now (until someone decides to build some cities anyway), the last screenshots are just unhelpfully from an anarchy turn.

OK,
Well, couple turns on Viky decided to declare on as. Fine with me.

Couple turns later Mounty declare on Viky, good for him.
Currently she has 2 units near our city, advice to kill axe with chariot next turn. Watch for Galey in capital, she will probably load it up with 2 swords.
Here Viky units and our pillaging group = good income, I will add one more units to it. :)

Near washington I move axes away from capital, to entice him to send archers out. He did.

Just kill settler group and cleaning archers.
Generally be carefull, remember we can not claim back with culture any cities we migth lose.
Here Washington sityuation:

I set research to Feodalism.
We need 2 tech Start getting Vassals, Feodalism and Construction.
I think we will be able to trade for Construction soon, so Feodalism is a good target.

Washington I think will agree to become wassal easy, and Viky is a good second candidate. Sugest not to make peace with any of them.

wow I see 100% Where'd all that cash come from?

I think to vassalize someone, you need more land, people, and power. Plus, you have to be assaulting their capital to increase the odds that they'll capitulate. Roosevelt should be easy since it's unlikely he'll get longbows but if Vicky gets LB, it might be a pain to make her capitulate.

I'd played a few turns.
Things do not work out well.
Our english plundering force gets beaten up, i rescue an axe with 0.1 life left due to an jaguar giving cover.
Next round Monte makes a peace treaty with Victoria, no more ally.

Roosevelt attacks our axes - with success. I reinforce and capture his settler while destroying two archers.
Three more archers are making a siege at us, as long as they don't come out of the wood its hard to take them out.

Next round Alex declares on us and moves 1 chariot, 1 phalanx and 2 axes towards Yaroslav - which is defended by a warrior. With some emergency whipping the next rounds look like:
we: 3 axes, 1 spear
alex: 5 axes, 2 phalanges, 4 horse archers, 2 chariots
Alex has feudalism and longbows.

Moscow got plundered pretty hard and we lost 1 worker but got rid of all his troops. We get a great general that is settled in moscow, i notice that it does not have barracks so i queue them in front. As long as alex does not want to make peace we need moscow to produce more troops.
The general in st.petersburg is also settled as we are producing troops there, too.

Feudalism is in. Check diplomacy:
- Alex would make peace but wants Yaroslav. In your dreams pal...
- Roosevelt is doing fine on his own, no capitulation
- Victoria is doing fine on his own, no capitulation

Victoria is getting plundered again, Roosevelt is in no shape to do anything but spam archers and Alex is beaten back but can still throw some troops at us.

Research archery to allow us building longbows.
Start researching construction, after one turn Wang Kong emerges and offers 70g+construction for Drama, a fair deal that i accept.
One round invested into metal casting. Other options would be civil service or music.

We have a great prophet sitting in moscow that would give us theology or allow for the buddhist shrine, as there is only a single buddhist city in the world i let him sleep and we can discuss options for the next player.
I'd suggest Theology as it is worth a (tiny) bit of power :)

I think we should build some catapults and try to get Roosevelt and Victoria to capitulate. I wonder when we will get happiness issues due to war weariness. Several plantations are being built, we lack workers in general.
We should watch out at Monte, i guess he is next in warring us.

I've had a similar situation in my shadowgame, conclusion only the strongest
civ did surrender, the others were afraid of my enemies.
I don't think we're in the position to make Alexander surrender soon.

ww isn't so bad at the beginning of the game since each unit doesn't count for many soldiers. Plus, we really haven't killed/lost many units against Roosevelt yet. War with Alex won't be fun though :(

Give Roosevelt Monarchy + Currency + Alphabet + Construction. All the other AIs have it already.
Sign open borders too.

Give Feudalism to Roosevelt.

Metal Casting is in, start to research Machinery.

Rush war elephant in St. Petersburg.

sweet! One capitulation done :) I guess the next target is Vicky? We can take care of Monty if he declares on us (which is probably inevitable since he's hemmed in). Do we want to go after Alex or Wang after Vicky?

Nice, one down. I'm not sure what the requirements for him to capitulate are, it certainly took a long time. Maybe we had to expand enough ourselves. We should try and get Roosevelt somewhat up to date with military.

Yes, Viky seems to be a logical next target.

We probably finally got 2 times more land population and power. It is surpriselly dificult to get 2 times more population. I am not sure how they count it.

What is with RB running 3 copies of allmost the same variant? Rhey feel jelous? :)

Way to much interest in the game is why so many threads. I am not sure if you are comparing RB29 to this with your comment. We are playing with different rules since we can't send troops onto enemy soil.

Hmm. I don't know what the requirements for capitulation are :( I continued the war against Vicky - I have her capital down to one unit but she still won't capitulate to us. Do we need more military strength to force capitulation on her?

I continued researching machinery, and have set the next goal as engineering. I would normally go CS, but our empire is very large at this point and it's taking a long time for units to cross it. We are also woefully behind in tech (no surprise considering we dipped down to 0%).

I guess the good news is that we're halfway to domination for land mass. We also need more workers - a lot of our cities are working unimproved tiles. I didn't whip as hard as I should have because I confused the whipping  time (I thought it was 10 turns for about half the set).

Monty asked for OB and I gave it to him in hopes that he'd send his stack towards Vicky but they started exploring our lands instead so I closed the border and sent his troops packing back to his territory. Here's the Vicky situation:
