Hi, a quick graphic question for the experts:

Several times I have tried to make some screenshots from old games. But when I paste them into Paint Shop Pro the colors are all wrong and the pasted image contains only very few colors.

Any hints and tips?

Thx in advance

try to paste them into ordinary paint that comes with windows. works fine with me. though it might be changes while saving the file. I guess you could load the civ2 palette in psp and then paste the screenie into the file.

Ok,

I have tried pasting them in Paint - with the same result.

Where can you change the format when pasting screenshots?

I think I might have had that with Age of Empires or something... Never had it with Civ2 though... And I'm guessing you haven't either, but you're wrongly posting this in the Civ2 forums. :p

It's because the game uses some custom palette, and the colors get screwed when pasting it somewhere... Those games often have a built-in way to take screenshots I think. Try looking through the manual or searching on the Internet if maybe there's some special key you have to press to take a screenshot. I think that's the only thing I ever figured out to fix it.

You can't choose formats for pasting screenshots. He was talking about when you actually save the file, but that's a step further.

Ok, I'll try searching for the manual then.

The games I have tried taking screenshots from are the old Panzer General games.

Tried downloading the program, but sadly to no awail. It just created a black image.

Have found another solution to my problem. I have found a program who can open the packed files of the game so I can take the images directly insted through a screenshot.

Thx all anyway.
