Patch 1.21f is out!

:D :D :D

Just installed and ran it. No issue! Some creative mind at Firaxis redid the graphics on the O and X controls in the windows. X is now a graphical V.

Many thanks to Jeff Morris for the surprise quick release and T'fall for putting on the item so fast.

In between clicks I thought I saw two versions of the post on the main page?
 
Downloading it right now. 81% complete. Looks good but will wait to finish GOTM. Hah there got it
 
Downloaded it but I will wait to see if all you good people like it and it is not crap like 1.17.
 
Just started a new game on 1.21f. Everything looks still fine and I am about to build my first settler.

It is amazing that I came home, went through the routine of checking mail etc., then rechecked CFC and read T'falls message! Wow!
 
I knew I had a reason to take tomorrow off:p

You are lucky. :D I posted that news post at 6:19 PM but on one in the forum noticed it even after 30 minutes (6:49 PM). So I posted that "Read the Mainpage, dammit!" thread. :lol:

Of course, I have never had issues with the 1.17f patch once I learned to live with the tech trading.:cool:

Probably because some of us have the CFC forums page bookmarked instead of the CFC homepage. I was going to mention that it didn't appear you had a link from the forums page back to the CFC home page... But I see it now, way down at the bottom. Perhaps a link should be at the top somewhere, too?
 
Justie, it is 4E and a bit to the south. To be more precise, Breda in Holland. I made the same mistake once on a Northsea crossing on a yacht and was heading to the Irish Sea straight through England while aiming for the Dutch coast!
 
Beammeuppy: can you try the new options "Scenario Properties" and "Player properties" please and tell me if they work? (mine doesn´t)

My download started at 0:55 AM local btw and I moved like hell to get this thread out :lol: :lol: :D.

The first time I saw the post it was pointed at a directory at the ftp server and no file. The second time it was pointed at the actual executable. What did you do in between???

That's in the editor. Scenario properties works and allows apperantly to enter a Scenario title etc. Player properties is greyed out. Have to sort that one out.

Edit: Player properties work after Custom Player Data is checked (help file information).

You need to enable that "Custom Player Data" under Scenario first to see the player properties screen.

The Infogrames FTP link didn't work for me at first. Took me 10 seconds to get the link correct. :)
 
Looking at all new options in editor and like what I see, especially unit abilities flags!!! We can better separate what a unit can and can't carry specifically, INFINITE RANGE!! Will this allow us to have bombers hit targets all over the world??? I would test but friend rented limo to party in tonight and I don't have time to test, if I started playing I probably wouldn't stop.

Anyway I think we might have a winner here folks. Lets just hope that it isn't troublesome like that other patch. Later!!:cool: :cool:

I must say, Good Job, Firaxis. So far at least......

Only played a few turns, but everything is running fine.

Positives:

Culturally linked starting position can be decided when you start a game (in the same screen as when you choose victory conditions). The old method, basically required you to start a game, go to preferences, so that the NEXT game, you start would have the option you chose.

'Preserve Random seed' is an option at the start of game, also.

Unsure of:

'Allow restarting players' ??? Does this mean if a civ is killed off real early, it can not respawn somewhere else? It is not an option that prevents a player from restarting at 4000 B.C., I already tried that out.

You sound like a Civ newbie, speedy. :D That No Restart Player option is also in Civ2...

Your first guess is correct (i.e. killed AI players cannot respawn).
