Patch incoming

The last couple of games I've played featured some relentless AI city attacks, and the AI was mostly better at it (though it still leaves ranged units attacking cities when all melee units have been killed).

You don't gt it do you? If they make the AI more agressive whats the point of trade routes?

I don't think you get it sir. They are more aggressive when attacking cities, not more aggressive in general. Meaning they will hopefully no longer dance their units around a city when attacking it.

The amount of cities of I've defended with one archer against ten units because the AI never actually gets round to attacking...

The same point there always is - domestic trade, trade with city-states, trade with allied civs. They're supposedly more aggressive attacking cities; that doesn't mean they're any more likely to your cities than they are now.

But in any case, unless you're playing Portugal or Morocco internal trade seems to be more valuable a lot of the time than international trade.

thank goodness for the worker thing, that drove me nuts ruining some turns when I thought I had a mine up etc( I know, its lazy to screw that up, but still)

I think they mean how the CPU will attack cities, not the frequency, but maybe im wrong about that. I just held off atilla and monty's team up attack of multiple battering rams, archers, warriors...too many to count...in a WIDE open mid map location with zero hills and zero mountains.... because of poor great general management by the cpu(they apparently fixed this now), and because the cpu took too long to actually attack my city. they ended up missing taking it by about 1 turn because of it and I held them off with a joke of a force(warrior, walls of Babylon) better management by the cpu and I lose it as I should. I hope that is more of what they are talking about because the frequency of cpu attacks is enough for me.

Good news all round.

Maybe its just me being pedantic, but I friggin' wish devs would give patch sizes for those of us keeping an eye on bandwidth.

Fix Rock of Gibralter national wonder so that it's surrounding terrain displays properly (there may still be rare cases where this can still occur).

Yet, no Krakatoa fix still? I think I've been able to work Krakatoa ONCE in all my time playing Civ.:mad::mad:

Thats a lot of welcome fixes, heap up BNW is comming and i have to play my running game to the end.
Anyway i hope BNW will mostly bugfree...

Anyone know when (what time) the patch is going to be available today? And, it should automatically start downloading if I have Steam running, right?

Looks like they've finally fixed the bug where the workers stop working, this is what I've been waiting for.

Confounding bug. The first time I really ran into it was on a diety play a couple of days ago. In 1,000's of hours of play I've rarely seen it. Now that I've experienced it clearly...glad its getting fixed!

Morning of PDT (west coast US). Yes, though sometimes Steam glitches and doesn't start downloading until you start the game up.

I don't think I've ever ran into it myself, but it's good to see it fixed.

"Morning" PT could be anytime between 11am-2:59pm ET.

For loading, will it dl if I leave the game sitting at the menu screen, or do we have to quit and restart to see (which would be a pain).

Lastly, any idea what version # the patch will be? Right now, my game says V.1.0.2.44 at the bottom of the main menu screen.

You'll need to restart the game for it to check for the patch. We don't currently know the new version number.
