Who wants to bet on a new Patch release date? I say Thursday.
Becuase a whole lot of people work on Thanksgiving........

I wish I downloaded it earlier. :( Now it's like I'm a lil doggie with Firaxis holding a cookie in front of me saying "NO!! NO!! BAD DOG, BAAAD DOG".

I feel the same... and yet, we may be the lucky ones, because it seems those who have downloaded the patch are experiencing some problems right?

The fact that Civ 4's main site, and its publishing sites have NO news on the release of the patch what-so-ever seems to indicate they didn't intend for the patch to be released in the first place.

I'm thinking someone accidently pressed the big red button saying 'launch this sucker' too early. The fact that the patch is labeled '1.08' instead of following convention (1.10 for a major patch) also suggests that they we're ready with the patch yet, and accidently released a test patch or something....

I personally expected it to be either 1.10 or 1.0.1... I guess they launched the internal version which is numbered 1.0.8 for the employees to keep track of the version. Like version 1.0.8 of the patch 1.0.1.

Is it that where Firaxis is located?

Yeah, it's about 10 minutes' drive north of me, in the tenth floor of an office building. The community college had a satellite campus in the same building on the first floor, and I saw it on the Building Directory.

Or they was trying to test the update option on civ to see if it works. they didn't imagine we got people hit the update option 24 hours a day waiting to download the patch.
