Re: people still playing with 3.02 (or worse, 3.03).
All you have to do is use Solver's "unofficial" patch. It solves (pun intended) most of the major issues such as corp maintenance.

I have to say I'm annoyed. I'm usually not one to scream for patches or ask for release dates, but this...? After not saying anything for months, Firaxis shows up just to tell us that there is a patch... without telling us when it will be out and which we still don't have a week later.
What's the point, why say anything at all? It will just make people impatient and each day without patch will lead to further frustration. Better say nothing at all until it's out (or at least until you can say: "It will be out tomorrow, here is the change list:"). This is just unprofessional and a prime example for bad information management.

Well, in that case I'm happy that you're not the one responsible for Firaxis' information management.

As someone mentioned earlier: If Firaxis doesn't give out information, some people will say they are ignoring the fans, "nobody ever talks to us" etc. If Firaxis does give out information, some people will say that they are just making people impatient, like you do. They get yelled at either way.

Personally, I'm grateful that Alexman chose to talk to the fans this time, because this gives me more information about what to expect from the upcoming patch.

By releasing the the patch change list early, I figure they've saved me the time it would take to read them when the patch does come out. This way I get to start playing with it 5 minutes sooner. ;)

The downside of releasing the list early is that I have to read through 19 pages of "are we there yet?" posts. :(

my bad, the patch still not released?

As said weeks ago - Firaxis estimated the release of the patch to be mid september. And as said a week ago - its done, and Firaxis would like to have released it but for some reason they couldnt. Some speculate that this is something to do with Take2 or tests showing unforeseen bugs/balancing issues.

In my opinion Firaxis did a good job with the information at hand. I would love more information, but more wants more

However, if the patch isnt released tomorrow (friday), then a little post from Firaxis wouldnt be out of place, so we could avoid all the; "Are we there yet? / Is it done?" -posts.

Its good that someone communicated. The problem is he said "We are done with the patch, but unfortunately we will not be able to release it this week as we had hoped." That made it sound like it would be released any day now. It would have better if he had just said something like "it might take a few more weeks for various reasons" then nobody would be holding their breath.

For the 3.03 patch, the date the patch got 'finalized', according to the readme, was exactly 1 week before it was released. This implies that Quality Assurance tests patches for one week before they are released. Therefore, I would expect the patch to be released between today, and the 23rd.

Though, I don't think the 3.03 patch was of this magnitude. Also, 3.03 was a disaster (thank goodness I never installed it) so perhaps more than a week is surely needed.

You don't seriously expect us to believe that anyone beyond some kind of mentally deficient monkey 'tested' patch 3.03 do you :)

Someone in another thread suggested that the abundance of the Horses resource seems reduced as of patch 3.03. I was just wondering had anyone noticed if the Bananas resource has increased in direct relation? ;)

They are just making you wait because of all the complaints and negativity that they have had to endure.

Ingot: Oh you haven't seen anything yet if you think this is a lot of negativity. When BTS was first released, people were irate. Same thing as when Warlords was first released.

But I do agree that the patch really oughta be released tomorrow. I don't want to start a new game because I'm waiting for the patch, so it's a bit frustrating...

for starters the civopedia crashes when browsing Unique Buildings and comparing with what they replace.

I didn't install 3.03 because of the negative comments it got.

I haven't any problems with BTS but would love to get the minor changes like customs house changes etc...

Does this mean that they will be "testing" the patch for ~357 weeks, and it will come out on July, 2014. ;)
