And look at how they prosper.

"Libya, blowing up planes since 1970!"

Know how I show my patriotism?

Kicking some Afghan arse ;)

Actually, although I don't remember much about flag protocols (that stuff never interested me too much for some reason when it was taught in military training), it seems to me that the "upside-down" American flag is actually properly flown in times of extreme distress, and is not disrespectful at all toward the US when displayed under those circumstances--BY Americans. Someone else here could perhaps further elaborate, if they know more about this (Starlifter?).

Actually, the upside-down American flag is the symble of AIM (American Indian Movement), who think the system is 'upside-down' because of the number of idians in today's jails (Fully 50% of the inmates in Minnesota and Dakota jails are indian.).

Hope this helps :goodjob:

I know AIM uses that symbol, but there IS an official protocol for inverting the flag. Something to do with the US being in distress.... I don't know for sure, just remember it being mentioned in one of our boring basic training classes in the Navy--guess I'll have to do some research....

Remember the miniseries "Amerika" (about a hypothetical Soviet takeover of the US)? The American resistance was flying the inverted flag there....

Well, let's put it this way - Would you emigrate to Libya and live there since it got free health care and schooling?
It's the same with Brunei too - free every govt service. And in Saudi Arabia, even free pay! Read somewhere that Saudi workers start work at 10, go for lunch at 11, come back at 1, go home at 2. Makes you wonder why they don't have an economy to speak of - besides the oil. :crazyeyes
