Save sent to France

This turn, spanish navy bombard Lisbon :
French Infantry 4/6 -> 3/6

Just one question : what does gps mean? Game Played and Sent?

Got it, Played it, Sent it.

No offensive actions are taken by the French Military, and this shall remain the case unless Spanish troops enter our territory. We are content to continue occupying Huesca until Spain agrees to relinquish its claim on Portugal. As soon as this happens we will be glad to return the city to Spain and sign a peace treaty.

Going to be at summer cabin for x amount of time, but I'll try to check the situation from time to time.

Has anyone talked to Easy in a while?

He missed the Italian turn on the New AoI game and is 4 days out on this one.

Seems to be MIA

War!

With the Lisbon Incident still unresolved and with French troops rapidly advancing down the Iberian peninsula, the Kaiser has seen enough and decides that it is time to intervene in defense of Spain and Portugal.

The with the war in Italy concluded, the Italian expeditionary force, with the blessing of the Ottoman governor of Lombardy, invades Provence. Marseille is shelled by 8 horse artillery batteries, doing little damage to the defenders. Bordeaux, being more lightly defended, is directly assaulted by German troops. Three home guards are destroyed by a German Cavalry (3/4), a German Infantry (1/7) and another German Infantry (6/6) and Bordeaux is captured! Another German Infantry travels north to Limoges and destroys a single home guard (6/7). Limoges is captured. In the north, one of the trenches outside Brussels is captured by a German Cavalry (4/5).

However, the German Empire does not seek the conquest of France, nor does it see itself as an aggressor. Rather, it is interested in mediating the dispute between France and Spain. It offers this treaty (The Treaty of Strassburg) to the French Republic:

The Treaty of Strassburg
In the interest of the hasty return of peace to Europe and the satisfactory resolution of the underlying causes of the Lisbon War, the signatories of this treaty agree and will abide by this treaty in its entirety.

I. Signatories

a) The treaty will not take affect unless it is signed and ratified by all participants: Britain, Germany, Austria-Hungary, France, Spain, and Portugal.

II. The Cessation of Conflict

a) All signatories shall make peace with each other in game as soon as possible.

b) All signatories agree not to take military action against each other while peace is brought about in-game.

c) All signatories shall immediately begin to withdraw troops from enemy territory.

III. The Return of Lands

a) The cities of Limoges and Bordeaux are immediately restored to France. The captured trench outside of Brussels is leased perpetually to Germany.

b) All cities belonging to Spain prior to the war with Portugal are immediately returned. This includes Huesca, Villa Cisneros and the Canary Islands.

IV. The Neutrality of Continental Portugal

a) The city of Lisbon is immediately returned to Portugal.

b) Continental Portugal (defined as the cities of Porto and Lisbon) is recognized as perpetually neutral, and all signatories agree to respect this neutrality at all times.

c) Colonial Portugal (defined as any Portuguese possessions outside the cities of Porto and Lisbon) is not affected in any way by this treaty.

d) The signatories agree to protect this neutrality and defend Portuguese neutrality, even if by force of arms, in the event of a non-signatory violating it.

e) In the event of Portuguese aggression, actions may be taken against Portuguese possessions outside of the two cities in order to swiftly bring about peace.

V. War Indemnities

a) France agrees to pay Spain 1000 G immediately in order to rectify the losses incurred by Spain as a result of the war.

VI. Duration of the Treaty

a) The treaty takes effect at the beginning of Week 17, 1897

b) All signatories agree to avoid war with each other throughout the year 1897.

The British Empire politely rejects this peace agreement.

Although we greatly appreciate the peace proposal we can not sign such an agreement.

However we do think it does have some merit and with some further amendments could be transformed into a more practical document better suited to the parties involved. We would like a more comprehensive deal including a more sweeping view of Europe and it's powers.

British forces were once again active this month around the world.

Spanish Front
In Spain British forces moved into position to forcibly remove France from the Iberian Peninsula if it becomes necessary. No shots where fired at this time as last minute negations are on going.

African Front
In Africa the last city of the Lowlands Empire, Leopoldville is surrounded and cutoff by Royal Army and Royal Navy forces. Per British military procedures a large bombardment commences as the defenders are hammered by Horse Artillery Batteries.

After the shelling a massive wave of troops attack the city and this is what happened as follows.

6/6 BCI vs 3/4 DCI=4/6 BCI
4/4 BCI vs 3/4 DCI=2/5 BCI
4/4 BCI vs 2/4 DCI=4/4 BCI
4/4 BCI vs 2/4 DCI=4/4 BCI
4/4 BCI vs 2/4 DCI=3/4 BCI
6/6 BI vs /2 DCSB=1/6 BI
3/3 BCC vs 2/2 DCSB=2/4 BCC
3/3 BCC vs 2/2 DCSB=4/4 BCC

Leopoldville Falls

With the capture of Leopoldville the Lowland Government is no more, the city offers up one "Raw Material" to the British Empire!

Farther South in Africa

British South African troops begin a bombardment and assault on the highly defended Portuguese colony of Tete. After the bombardment the assault begins.

4/4 BCI vs 2/4 PCI =5/5 BCI
4/4B CI vs 2/4 PCI =4/4 BCI
4/4 BCI vs 3/3 PCSB =1/3 PCSB
4/4 BCI vs 3/3 PCSB =1/4 BCI
5/5 BCC vs 3/3 PCSB =1/5 BCC
5/5 BCI vs 3/3 PCSB =4/6 BCI
5/5 BCI vs 3/3 PCI = 1/3 PCSB
5/5 BCC vs 2/2 PCSB =4/5 BCC
4/5 BCC vs 2/2 PCSB =3/5 BCC
4/4 BCI vs 1/4 PCI =5/5 BCI
1/5 BCC vs 1/3 PCSB =1/5 BCC
4/4 BCI vs 1/3 PCSB =5/5 BCI
Tete is Captured!
British forces take the city and capture two "P.O.W." workers and a "Raw Material" as well.

Mexican Front

British guns shell the Mexican capital of Ciudad de Mexico with little effect as more troops move up for an eventual bloody attack on the city.

This concludes the monthly Empire Report

France would like to voice it's extreme displeasure in Germany's resorting to violence resulting in the destruction of priceless cultural centres that will need to be rebuilt.

We would also like to state that we cannot negotiate with both Britain and Germany while their demands differ. However, we feel that the integrity of mainland France should not be compromised in any deal.

We have no desire for war with any of Spain, Britain, or Germany. We will not be taking any aggressive actions until this matter is resolved peacefully, as was stated our intention from the start.

An uneventful turn.

Turkey would like to see pre-conflict borders for Spain and France, or any modifications the two might agree on
