PBEM - Enemy move replay?

One thing I've always thought as a drawback in MP CIV, since I first played MP in CIV-II, was that the game wouldn't show enemy moves once you loaded your turn. This wasn't corrected in either CIV-III nor cIV, and it forces players to be always guessing where enemy units went last turn or writing battle outcomes and such.

Does anyone know if anything is being done about this for ciV?

Civ 3 and 4 has been the only Civ-games with multiplayer, so perhaps they find this unpractical in mp-games?

CIV-II had a MP hot-seat game which also didn't replay enemy moves. It was much like playing a PBEM game in fact.

Yep, remember that, but I meant real multiplayer. ;) Good point they didnt replay enemy moves there either.

I'll take this is not to be seen in ciV either... or maybe no one knows. Where do I include this in a wishlist?

Maybe only I'm bothered by this...

In this interview it sounds like you will have to wait a bit for PBEM:
Dennis Shirk: We're going to have the basics out of the gate. About a month after release, we're going to add Pitboss. Pitboss will be accompanied by two extraneous modes that we weren't originally planning, but the fans keep asking for: play-by-mail and hot-seat.

Curious... a MP patch only a month after release?

Thanks for this valuable info.

I certainly hope they release an update to bring PBEM and Hotseat functionality to Civ5. One of the reasons why CivIII has not left my hard drive is precisely because of the ability to play email games as well as hotseat.

I just don't have the time anymore to commit to a live session for hours on end just to play a human. PBEM or hotseat is the way to go for those of us adults with lives that keep us away from gaming.

+1

I've actually never played live CIV in any of it's forms. My MP experience reduces to PBEM or HS.
