I am calling in a bad start. I am surrounded by mountains and swamp and this will set me behind greatly. I also have a few volcanoes nearby. now this is a bad start.

Way worse. You did not have volcanoes or swamp to contend with. You start was a not too bad but would have been slow whereas mine would need major improvements just to be suitable. Here is my start considering we are starting over. As you can se it is quite bad.
