    Sorry forgot to post that most important of information Azza is correct ... I'm also on-line quite a lot ... physically if not mentally :D

    Settlings look fine.

    Also I mentioned to Zarquon our great prophet ... that one important thing in a pbem game is to e-mail combatants about the results of conflict. That way the person you attacked knows who attacked, how many were slain and how many opponents were killed (this includes bombard) ... the player may also decide to post these results in a spoiler for lurkers :salute:

    We blunder into a village and find maps of the surrounding area.
    We decide not to settle yet.

    ==

    I copied a previous biq (Theta) so we should be ok..
    ..but check you have 3 of everything

    Warn on first move if it looks bad, then confirm in 3, or sooner if necessary/possible...

    We met in secret, hidden from the eyes of the world, a gathering of the like minded led by the Groovy Guru Jello Biafra.

    We were a small group, 3 peons ready to toil, 3 warriors strong and brave and 3 city makers, but under his stewardship our civilization would grow and prosper.

    BUT :(

    Swamp and Jungle is all I see :cry: ... so requesting restart.

    Now that you mention it, i'm not particularly impressed with my start. Its livable, but its not even coastal and im a Seafaring Civ!

    When I return from work, we'll try again...

    ===

    Edit: and off we go again:
    gps Nu_001a_4000bc.SAV

    And, no, I cannot compete with the Groovy Guru
    {thinks: thank god it's not a pangaia... be still, unworthy thought..}

    ===

    Dumped into a landscape,
    in a manner beloved of Beckett,
    the tribe collectively sighed...

    So , gathering all behind in the hintermosed,
    we ploddy ploddy forward into the deep thundermold of the compligaden forry...
    .. to sordis one out madey .

    My start is a little bit better, so no problem there, and have the full 3 of each unit type.

    Athens is settled in a pleasant spot.
    Fresh water to hand, and expansion will bring access to food bonuses.

    The other settlers stumble along in search of something..

    Otoh, you are probably right.
    One convention has it you can liven this up with some comments.
    If there is stuff you don't want to give away, then don't mention it, or use the Jello approach.

    I tend to let some stuff slip, as I tend to take the approach that this is a bit artificial anyway, as we are going to be hard put to be really surprised when we meet up at some point on the map.

    If there is anything that constitutes diplomacy, when your actual game position does not enable you to do it, then don't.

    Well, at least the hut did not give me barbarians. I should have all three cities settled soon as I found decent spots for them.

    Once I figure out which city will get a forest chop, it will be smooth sailing and growing.

    Oh, and happy birthday Azzaman!
