PBEM Reconquista

Valencia (which should pick a new name since Valencia is Aragon's now) is Christian from now on! So Christians decided to grant them peace.

“In war, resolution; in defeat, defiance; in victory, magnanimity; in peace, goodwill!”

In a daring raid, deep in Valencian territory Salah-al-Din has brought his forces near, the recently sacked, city of Valencia.

Let the sword of Islam strike upon these Christian crusaders. Our brothers must be avenged!

gps turn to michkov. A new Christian leader has visited a sacred site and prayed for guidance.

Does this mean DoW against Aragon? When will Leon communicate with Christians? :hammer:

Castille and Christians have suffered a massive defeat near Guadalajara. The Islam leader Al - Calanthia has declared war on Castille.

It's impossible to score any kills against those camel archers. What does Salah ad-Din doing in Al Andalus anyway?

Salah-al-Din has been invited by Al-Mansur ibn Calanthe to come and join the fight against the Christians. Al-Mansur promised him the lands of the Duchy of Aquitaine to convince him to join the fight.

As if things were not bad enough Luthor gave Cordoba too many fancy uber-units. And the fact that human Leon is played by not very social ENDOVELICO does not help. I have no idea why is it so hard for him simply to get back to me? Or to us, for that matter. His last post here (or anywhere) was Apr 06, 2013:eek: If one is not enjoying communication -- what is the point? It is a sign of disrespect to your fellow game partners.

I kindly ask that the host would address this situation, perhaps even to organize a vote :dunno: I am just simply frustrated after so many attempts done in a good faith...

People are free to play as they like.

There has been PBEM's where any communication outside the game was not allowed... this is not the case but we can not force people to talk, can we? He plays his turns (not too often I suspect but does). So if he wishes not to talk... it's up to him.

The initial purpose of this game was for Cordoba to be played with AI... as a consequence it was extremely strong (to compensate for the lack of I of the AI). When most people accepted a human player with it I did some minor changes (making it weaker) but maybe not enough.

I clearly warned about the giant. I believe it was the first French player said something like "if we know that Cordoba is very strong the other players have to adapt that into the playstyle"... but what we saw was greed and total lack of coordination amongst the Christians. even if the Christians were very well coordinated it would be difficult for them to win. But instead of joining efforts the opposite happened...

Most of the Cordoban units (elite camel archers) are units which started without any special upgrades.

In the first turn I got a limited number of special units.
I have been fighting constantly so my camels are now about 20-30 exp per piece.

Furthermore I spent two Generals to increase points of two camel archer units.
So most of what you fight against, you can't "blame" Luthor for..

I'm ok if Luthor sends out the starting turn; then you can see for yourself.

I tried to co-ordinate some co-operation but Portugal under Sohleks just did his own attacking thing. Also most ignored Luthor's warning and simply continued in war mode.

The net effect was as Calanthian has stated.

I know, I just got one today. Your super-promoted Pikeman is dead! Did he get all those promotions from battle? Do you have any discount on promotions? This high level troops are super annoying.:deadhorse:

gps to Michkov.

Leon claims a major victory against the Infidels in the west.

It seems the Infidels will be building universities soon.

Leon claims a major victory against the Infidels in the west.

Could you spare us some details, please? Always nice to hear that Leon exists and actually does something :crazyeye:

Granada decided to launch an offensive against Leon. This has been repulsed, apparantly.
Salah-al-Din urges his fellow muslimmen to follow his lead.

News from the front:

Sadly Tariq ibn Ziyad II has fallen during the siege of Segovia. He made an attack he always should win (97,6%), but a stray bullet hit him precisely in his eye. Thus, a great hero of Cordoba has fallen. Three days of national mourning will remember his deeds. Al-Mansur ibn Calanthe has ordered his Major Domo to write down every single act in Tariq's life, so Cordobans are inspired by his example.

Meanwhile, Cordoban troops have conquered Lissabon. The famous Versaillian gardens are once again ours.

Christians, should we just crown Calanthian as a victor and start a new game? I cannot see how we can overpower him one day...
