The scout, Oropher, approached the dark copse carefully, noticing the signs that many creatures lived within. In a flash he was faced with near-feral humanoids, his surprise at the encounter increasing ten-fold as he realized they were actually elves.

After some tense moments of rudimentary conversation, tensions were alleviated and Oropher was able to convince them to return with him to Evermore. There were too few, and re-introducing them to civilization would be difficult, but he felt compelled to do so for these sorry souls.

As he helped them pack what little food they had stored, the inquisitive scout investigated the small cave they called home. To his astonishment, he found a pile of discarded trinkets that, when wiped clean of grime and dirt, showed their true, immense worth. These jewels and artifacts would make a great addition to Evermore's treasury - Amelanchier would be pleased.

Feeling a bit more verbose today.
