Please try not to make this into a flame thread.... (although that'd be kinda cool.)

They both have their merits, but PC wins overall. FPS or any sort of strategy game with any kind of depth on a console will never really beat out the PC, but I think sports games work better on consoles. PC games also have the benefit of user-made content and mods.

Nope!

I remember someone once telling me that if you want to play games on a PC you should buy a Xbox 360, put it next to your computer, and connect it to the monitor.

Consoles are winning in the sales sense.

PCs win in the 'actually good' and 'awesome' category.

/thread.

More seriously, I believe PCs are better because game developers keep making games for PCs, while no one makes games for the PS1 anymore. PC games are also cheaper, but that is because PCs themselves are more expensive. PCs don't usually have downgraded graphics, unlike consoles which have hardware limitations and thus the data has to be degraded from something developed in a PC to play on a console.

On a less happy note, PCs can pirate games.

I find that a very happy note. EA doesnt deserve 50$ for some of the crap they put on the shelves.

Is that so? I don't hear about many new games coming out for Windows 95. You have to upgrade every few years regardless of which platform you prefer.

Like those threads that try to ask which console is superior to which other console, the answer here is "Whichever has more games you like." Personally, I prefer consoles because control is easier for most (though not all) genres, they're generally easier to use, and, hey, most of my favorite games are on consoles.

Oh, and I'd also like to point out that you're not going to get a very non-partisan answer by asking this question on a website devoted to a PC game franchise.

I found that PCs are better for RTS. But I like consoles, becasue FPS are more funner and the controls are more easliy to use.

A lot of console games that are ported to the PC are mediocre at best compared to PC only games, even games that are released for both and not ported so much (Far Cry 2). Ports often have a few technical problems that may not be fixed, and are poorly optimized (GTAIV, Assassin's Creed). And they have a complete lack of moddability.

With the way the next gen consoles are so much like computers now, I can see computer gaming fading out by the 8th gen of consoles.
Just look at some of the games on the consoles, Little Big Planet and Unreal Tournament 3, you can do thing sin those games like create your own levels, alter the physics, and other stuff that you could only do on the computer prior to the 7th gen.

The beauty of consoles is that kids and barely literate people can understand them simply. That and split screen play on a large television set. The beauty of PCs is games can be more complex, more modded.

Not true. GTA3:SA has a ton of mods for the PC translation.
