Chill Elden! Its just been a rash outbreak of borderline cases that could have gone either way, and the mods decided to ban them. It was probably emotion coming before reason, and past cases affecting the present. Don't quit CFC because of the mods...:)

It's too late for that now - posters have tried to convince me in another thread - I'm staying for this thread and PBEM but once there done I'm outta here.
 
Sween's been gone for a while.. isn't his ban over?

Elden has been banned for 5 days. Not sure why yet, but he has. No surprise as he was hellbent on being banned (Iwaskiddingdon'thurtme!), but still a frustrating, if not humorous in an ironic way, setback.[/color]

Here's the thread he got banned in. Pass judement as you will. Elden also tells me that the thread you read is a new one syphoned off by a moderator from an existing thread with a notion of Purging, (as in banning) and he says it's purging antiwar posters.

On another note I still think it's Sween's turn, and despite what he thinks about posting here in CFC it's his duty to pass to Elden, who shall pass to me for my 3rd turn :lol:
 
I can understand why he was banned. Calling the forum "Nazi Germany" and saying "F*CK the mods" is case enough to be banned, IMO. I don't think he threadjacke though. Theage and Sultan (no offense dude) got him into the argument, which originally started here.

Am I still the only one determined to NOT to get banned? :lol:
 
The mods are just toying with us now. Lefty renamed that thread "Exhibit A to the Forthcoming PURGE".

I don't know about you, but I think the word purge has a connotation that has something to do with Stalin....

That only proves Elden's point! :lol: j/k mods!

Ends up I might not be able to. Seems like CG6 might be 1.14 anyway. Its still up in the air though.

Does anyone else think this current, uh, mod situation is like the LA Riots? Every (liberal) poster wants a chance to beat up on a mod and vice versa...hopefully it doesn't erupt into anarchy...:crazyeye:
 
I have urged people to stay calm- Elden too, because there is nothing to be gained by acting out against the mods. I know people want to make it into "the mods are banning us because we're peace protesters" but that isn't it- the mods ban when you troll, flame, or spam. That's all.

The difference is that in OT we have one right-wing militant and one right-leaning rich guy ;). I know that I'd sooner get on rms' case for trolling than I would Chairman Yang if I were a mod, just because his views are more likely to offend me, especially with the punch he gives them.

People are feeling that this is being represented by the moderators' actions, and I'll admit I sometimes feel like that as well :(.

AHHH Sultan you changed your name! I was really scary since all the sudden someone new on my buddy list was hanging around. I was about to PM thunderfall to see if he was messing with my account or something...

Out of curiosity, why'd you change the name?
 
Hey everyone. It's funny, I put in the request for a name change ten days ago and had already given up on getting it, then suddenly today it happens!

Well, I changed my name because I think people were making too many assumptions about me and I wanted a switch. This is the character from "THe Seventh Seal" who returns from the Cusades to Sweden to find the Black plague raging and play chess against death.
