Peer connection failure

Hi all,

A friend and I have been playing a Pitboss game for a few days now. Today we both had some free time and wanted to get some simultaneous turns going. The problem is, neither of us can connect while the other is connected!

When one of us is connected and the other tries to join, it spends around 30 seconds saying "connecting to established peer", then it errors out with "peer connection failure!"

Both of our firewalls/routers are configured with port 2056 open and forwarded to our gaming machines.

Based on this thread:
http://forums.civfanatics.com/archive/index.php/t-181006.html

We tried forwarding 2057 as well, and I changed civilizationiv.ini to use 2057. Unfortunately we saw the same result.

Then, based on this thread, we tried forwarding 2033:

Still no luck! The pitboss server is on a public IP at my job (no NAT involved), so I don't think that's an issue. The funny thing is, my friend's a network engineer, uses a logging firewall, and doesn't see any blocked packets coming from either the pitboss server or my IP address. It's like Civ isn't even trying to connect to the peer!

Anyone have any ideas how to get this working? Thanks for any help.
