As for the episode 1-3, I just got the spoilers from my friends.

civ4warlords2006102506425939lb5.jpg

Glad it is Genghis and not us that has attracted her attention.
- A Great Engineer is born in Bombay! He is quickly sent to Delhi to finish the UN.

But elsewhere on the continent...

 Wow! Izzy actually managed to beat Genghis. Maybe dragging him into the war wasn't such a good idea - that's 15 population down the pan...
Both of them have just popped Great Generals. We, on the other hand, can now drop out of this war whenever we wish - Izzy is ready to sign a peace treaty.

All in all, things are looking pretty good!

Very eventful and interesting turns!

Having Izzy war with GK is a good thing for us. Imagine, all that crap was going to land on our shores only to detour to GK! We don't have any troops at the moment (all of them are tied up in HC's lands, can we sign open borders by any chance)?

Ok GK losing a city is BAD! If Genghis loses enough population he could lose Mansa and HC as a vassal (and the second one means we must war with HC again to get him to capitulate).

Must try to help GK however we can. Can we build Cavalry, they counter Grens... that is, if we have Military Tradition...

well, let's *hope* we have only 8 more turns or so to go. Hopefully, we're still Friendly with GK and Hannibal to secure their votes. Do we think that GK on his own will be enough Pop? I'm leaning towards no, so we will definitely need Hannibal.

Roster:
Pholkhero >> on deck
Karr1255 >>
Robo Kai >>
Scowler >> just played
Ozbenno >> UP NOW

Ozzie's up in a few games i think, so we may not get this today. However, since i drafted him, maybe i'll sneak in some turns if i have time.

~ and Robo ~ sheesh :shakeshead: you missed Empire?? that's THE best star wars movie.

Yep, I heard it was the best ever. Key word being "heard". Unfortunately I am lazy to watch any movies recently, haven't seen any for a year or so. No it's not Civ4's fault.

SPLITTER!!

okay, we'll see what happens for me tonight. I'm up in Menu Surprise, too, over at DM and they're clamoring for turns and accusing me of all sorts of outrageousness ~

i'm trying to play up the sympathy vote here! cut me some slack!!

in other news, i've got it, but may not play until tomorrow

Okay, i played, but not a full set b/c disaster struck . . .

First, though, Democracy finished and I'm revolting...that is, our civ is in revolution, not that i'm ugly.

And, a few turns later, the result of the first election:
civ4screenshot0010fe7.jpg

Notice whose vassals DON"T vote for us . . .

HC comes by for OB and I accept to try and get better relations
civ4screenshot0011nm3.jpg

not that it will help.

It turns out, too, that losing Beshabalik cost GK a vassal:
civ4screenshot0012hg4.jpg

I was torn since they're still at war with Spain. In the end, i take the deal b/c we need the votes. I dispatched our army from Machu Pichu southward.

Okay, it's 1830, and the next vote occurs. Obviously, i chose Diplo victory. Also, i sent a Fast Worker east to scout out Izzy's forces taht were left over.
civ4screenshot0013mx4.jpg

There are none. All our other FWs are sleeping in Delhi since i couldn't find much to do.

And unfortunately, i didn't have a screenshot of the vote screen, but we were about 30 votes shy of victory...b/c HC didn't vote for us. He's got about 32 votes, so he could tip the balance in our favor, but i'm not sure what to do now, so i paused.

As of now, i'm thinking of just heading for some military techs and taking over somebody...but who??

we could a) delcare on our long-time ally Genghis and take over both his and HC's land or b) wipe out Izzy. both options will be time-consuming, but i don't see another way.

Let's hash this out and i'll finish up tonight.

Hmm... so the vassals of your friends have their own minds, eh?

We could take over Izzy (time-consuming but a guaranteed winner) while replacing Genghis' destroyed city with our own... maybe also building farms everywhere to increase our population, but it will cost a ton of research if we fail.

i agree about the city. As much as it pains me, i would found on that town there to get those cows and spice.

I think Izzy IS probably the way to go, but that just sucks! ahh well, we've got Cavs and we'll have Artillery soon, so perhaps we should head for Industrialism and tanks to take care of her.

The other down side is that the longer we take to win, the bigger chance there is GK or Hannibal will drop out of Hinduism into Free Religion.

Ozbenno said:
I'd work hard on Huayana as well, trade him everything, gift him everything, trade resources but if a war is required Isabella would be the main target.
May not work, probably, we had declared war on him. How far will the "favorite civic" bonus go? We're already on Hereditary Rule, if I remember correctly.

It's no use w/HC ~ he's Furious w/us. The last election just happened; we missed Diplo by 14 votes so perhaps by taking two of Spains highpop cities, we can win.

I'm assembling our generals and a small landing party to head up there. We need to start on another Galleon or two. There's about 12 units in...hmm..not Madrid, another pop9 city in Spain; we could land there. Take that and Madrid and we'd have 16 extra pop for us.

Play it up!!

i think, proportionally, we may have to raze more than we need to capture. As in, if we raze 15 population pts, we'll, of course, have a lower requirement, relatively speaking, for Diplo, but my impression is that we'd need to raze at least 14 + 60%, but its still early here, and i'm only my first cup of tea ~

I *think* we had 265 votes and we need 279. That means there's 465 votes out there (since we need 60% to win; 279/x=60/100 = 465). So, we raze 16 pop points, we're left w/449 total pop, and we'd need 269 and still a tad bit shy.

Oh, and Hannibal landed a settler on our proposed spot

BUT, we could land on the north eastern or northwestern part of the island and stampede across the island. In either case, though, we'll need a few more galleons to ferry the army over.

Karr, you have MY permission to play more than 10 if they're pretty uneventful, if it's okay with the group.
