[continued...]
(4) 1620AD
- Constitution -> SciMeth, and we revolt to Representation
- Delhi: cannon -> Hindu miss. This only takes one turn, which is convenient as I am now going to whip the University at Shangian, allowing me to start building Oxford University next turn.
- Karachi: forge -> Hindu miss
- Lighthouse whipped at Kolhapur. We ought to think about building a settler to plant another city on the eastern tip of this island to grab the sea resource.
(5) 1625AD
- Delhi: miss -> Oxford University
- Bombay: Grocer -> Gren
- Shangian: University -> Courthouse
- Kolhapur: Lighthouse -> Courthouse
- Ramesses has just come to the end of a Golden Age, which has taken him into the lead and provided him with Corporation (which is isn't willing to consider trading at the moment)
(6) 1630AD
- Hinduism has spread to Tabriz of its own accord - excellent!
(7) 1635AD
- Bangalore: Gren -> Gren (NB: we need two more Forges before we can build Ironworks here...)
- Calcutta: Gren -> Theatre. The cultural pressure here is really becoming a problem. Building a Theatre will help, but ideally we could do with an Artist specialist if we have enough food.
- Karachi: Hindu miss -> Gren - I've only just noticed that the city doesn't have
any defenders!
- A missionary spreads Hinduism in Tacape: only three Carthaginian cities left to be converted
(8) 1640AD
- Madras: Observatory -> Christian Temple to keep the inhabitants singing happy songs
- HC's Golden Age is now over, and it seems that he has finally learned the secrets of Gunpowder...
(9) 1645AD
- Meths is in; time to chase the free Physics teacher
- We have oil! There is a dirty splat covering the otherwise useless desert tile south of Karachi, with another just off the coast further south, and one more in the unclaimed area south-east of Tabriz:
- Bombay: Gren -> Gren
- Ugh! What is this!?!?:
I hope he is not planning to settle on OUR island.
(10) 1650AD
- Delhi completes Oxford Uni, which knocks a couple of turns off Physics. The city starts on yet another gren.
- Madras: Christian Temple -> Hindu miss
- Calcutta: Theatre -> Forge. I still think the city could do with more food, at least until we manage to push the borders out a bit further.
- Lahore: Hindu Mandir -> Granary. No food worries here. The city just needs to grow more quickly.
- Sure enough, HC has dumped his unwanted settler onto the island. Certainly don't want that there if we are about to declare war. He can't do much damage with just one sword, but it will be an annoyance.
My plan is this: I've moved a galleon across to the east of Bangalore; a grenadier will be completed and able to embark next turn. Another gren is currently on its way from Bombay and will reach the galleon at the same time, so the two units can be ferried across to the island.
Further north, we have three stacks at the choke point south of Coriwotsits. Genghis's/Mansa's borders are still closed so this is the only way through, unless he sends units by ship. I've upgraded all the maces to grens, including several with City Raider promotions. There are also a number of cannons, although I didn't have enough money to upgrade any of the cats or trebs.
If we want Genghis and Mansa to declare war on HC they are willing to do so for the following:
However, I would recommend this deal instead, to avoid the possibility of Genghis adopting Free Religion afterwards:
Note his climbing power rating. He has just researched Corporation to boost his income and already has a sizeable pot of gold. It would be nice to do him some damage before he can research Chemistry and upgrade to grens...
Finally, we have a sleeping Scientist waiting for some action. What shall we do with him?
