Phil/Indu

Sounds like you'd like to see this in the Canada mod... ;)

Yep, if they get that Canada mod fixed up like I hope they will then I am going to perma-install Canada in BtS and have them with the 3 trait combos that are left-over. Bliss I tell you, bliss

I agree with Lilnev: The game is all about warmongering. Having a strong builderish combo is a good idea. I mean it's not like deity players are going to start building a bazillion wonders :crazyeye: and if lower-skill-level players find it too easy, they can always bump the skill level up a notch :goodjob:

Another reaon phil/ind is overpowered, amazing access to it's fast buliding. It is long way off on the tech tree to forges and universities relative to other trait's fast buildings. Ind trait allows you to get the oracle (rarely to be beat as ind) so you take metal casting for fast forges (No other AI will have forges for a long while, even other IND leaders). Shoot for a great engineer if you can get him (fast being philosophical) and save him for the Great library. Tech writing/alphabet/literature. Build Great library with the engineer (still pretty quick to build with early forges if you have to) in a virgin wonder city, quickly build the national epic and spit out great scientists. Bulb Phil research paper, bulb most of education, finish teching education. My guess is you can have forges AND universites in most of your citieswhile most other AIs are just starting to build their first forge (unless you have trading phil or metal casting). Seams brutally overpowered, not including the fast wonder GPP's and Phil trait, even if you only get the oracle and GL. Add the Pyramids and it's way overpowered. Ind and Phil are more about fast forges and universities which other AI's will not have access to very early.

Philosophical + Any trait + early stone is way more overpovered than Philosophical + Industrial.

Agreed....................

Yes, but as everyone always says, how many games do you start with stone? Furthermore, when you DO have stone, how many times is it in a city that you don't want to vomit thinking about settling an early city there to claim it

After playing so many leaders with some having several starts until I get a game going I can say Stone availability is associated with certain leaders. Mao almost always has it avaiable as at least one of your first three cities, usually in a decent spot. Ditto Roosevelt.

I thought so at first but 8/10 of Mao's starts had stone as I described. I also always had to go a mile to get copper. I think it is coded to help the chinese Mao get the great wall.

That would be sweet  If true. I'm thinking GW is great for China because you can use the GE on machinery and go nuts with cho-ko-nu (and add maces once you get CS and you are also close to trebs then...)
