Hi... downloaded Photoshop so I could post those large pictures on a thread, but found out that I HAVE NO IDEA HOW! Can someone please post a tutorial on how, or direct me to an existing one?
Thanks in Advance. ;)

Why would you need photoshop to post large pictures? All you need is a hosting site to which you can upload large pictures ( like imageshack.us ) and then you need to make the link.

Other than that, fi you mean saving large screenshots, you can do that using irfanview.

I don't believe he means 'host.'

I think you're talking about cropping and resizing. Depending on which Photoshop you got (probably the same spots anyways), for Cropping you simply go to the left-hand bar and it should be the 3rd row and the 1st choice.

A good way to upload images is through Photobucket, really convenient.

You select this tool, and click and drag on the image you selected. You'll see that everything besides you selected will darken. If you're happy with the result, click the Check Mark on the menu-bar at the top.

For resizing, here a couple screenshots demonstrating.

As you can see, I have Constrain Proportions on along with the Resample Image as Bicubic. I find that this gives you the best quality. Make sure you resize in pixels.

Another suggestion is that you save your images as Jpeg and set the quality to 7-9 (most reasonable in terms of file size and preserved quality (Jpeg compresses quality a lot). That should be all you need to know.

Hope this helps.

Thanks, he really said Photobucket! :wallbash: And thanks for the tutorial. Can Gimp resize images?

Yes, it can, as it is an image editing software. It should be in one of the menu bars. (Haven't used GIMP for YEARS.)

for resizing and similar stuff, photoshop is way overkill....there's dozens of lightweight image editing apps that do that much easier if that's all you're gonna do...

I agree, Photoshop is pretty expensive and if you're just going to use it to resize... Well, you better have the inspiration to edit pictures! :p

If you have a Windows computer I would recommend Paint .NET over GIMP.

These are the system requirements for Paint .NET:
Minimum System

* Windows XP (SP2 or later),
or Windows Vista,
or Windows Server (2003 SP1 or later)
* .NET Framework 2.0
* 500 MHz processor (Recommended: 800 MHz or faster)
* 256 MB of RAM (Recommended: 512 MB or more)
* 1024 x 768 screen resolution
* 200+ MB hard drive space
* 64-bit support requires a 64-bit CPU that is running a 64-bit version of Windows, and an additional 128 MB of RAM

If you don't meet them then I whole-heartedly support going for the GIMP. :)
