Well, he did have a structured program, it was on many points just a bit ridiculous.

It's terrible when anything like this happens, really.

Although Fortuyn's ideas were generally ridiculous, no country should have to endure this sort of action.

I admire Fortuyn for wishing to preserve his ultra-liberal society, however his blatant, paranoid Islam-bashing, and the complete closing of The Netherlands' borders were not the way to go about that.

It's really hard to clasify him, but I would say he was certainly right wing, in a strange sort of way.

All true and sensible, apart from the assertion that the evil murdereer will get a harsh punishment. 20 years in prison is not particularly harsh, particularly in a modern, enlightened European country.
If he could serve 70 years in an Iraqi or Thai jail, then that might approach being appropriate...
