Pirates of the Caribbean

Find out where I can make the best profit by buying from whichever English port I'm closest to and selling wherever.

Miniupdate

Find out where I can make the best profit by buying from whichever English port I'm closest to and selling wherever.

Well, i'll take that as a "go to any nearby English port, but stuff cheap, enter another port, sell it for bucks" . Since I preffer more thinking in the game (you haven't even tried to attempt to think that thinking is a good idea), I can tell tell you that you bought 20 crates of Illegal Goods in EP5 and got caught when entering Cat Island with them. All your cargo has been confiscated and , even if the rules say that you should now have a debt of about 2000 Gold, i'm going to cancel the debt, because it's first turn. Don't do this mistake again. Ever.

As a result, Edward Blackadder ends his turn in Cat Island with nothing on board.

Diego Rodriguez sails towards SP17, but on his way, a Spanish Pirate attacks him.

Pirate Convoy
1 Ship (Sloop)
Diego Rodriguez captures the enemy ship

Diego's casualties: 15 men.
Diego's Brig is at 81% HP.
Diego's Sloop is at 41% HP
Relations with En/Fr/Dt/Sp : +2/+2/+2/+2
Prestige gained: 3

Diego Enters SP17

1) Hunt down a certain Dutch Corsair named Hiram Brakes, last seen near port DP1 (reward: 17000 Gold)
2) Enter port Cat Island to spy it's defences. (10000 Gold)
3) Reach port SP18 with a shipment of 6 Illegal Goods. (19000 Gold)

Sail to FP6 and assess the prices there.

That was "investigate prices and ask around where I can get the best deal," not "herp derp." Literally all I intended to do was acquire information. I didn't say anything about buying crap.

@AA: Prices are randomized every turn. And you still got 1000 Gold. Prices in Cat Island are the same for you as other players in the same city. Currently, these are the prices in your current location. You cannot know where to get "the best deal" since it's 17th century and the Internet wasn't invented yet, and with such dangers as pirates roaming freely around, information like the prices of whatever item in whatever city are usually scarce and always outdated.
@Talon: you get your missions when the turn ends. Their targets and locations are randomized, so you might as well get a mission in the area you are already in, as well as a mission that's on the other side of the map. Pure luck on this one. but since you have one action left and you really can't do too much, I'll put your missions up anyway.

Cyprian Hacklett enters EP3

Normal goods: buy for 25 Gold or sell to the port for 24 Gold
Expensive Goods: buy for 73 Gold or sell to the port for 57 Gold
Illegal Goods: buy for 71 Gold or sell to the port for 22 Gold

2) Reach port SP3 with 13 Expensive Goods (13000 Gold)
3) Reach port DP1 with 3 Cheap Goods ( 4000 Gold)

I know I can't get precise information, but there should be stuff like "buy cheap or normal goods from a place with lots of plantations and sell them in a major city, then buy expensive luxury goods."

As prices are randomized every turn ( i'll keep them the same next tur though), this process you speak of must be done manually. Otherwise traders would instantly just win money even if they're not playing and everyone would have a steady source of income out of the blue. As I can see, your character is a Trader, which has a tremendous advantage about trade: Trade Influence. Each city in which you get a good deal ( like selling previously-bought cheaper items for a higher price) will give you some Trade Influence. The more you have, the better the random deals you'll get. (example: you'll be offered good prices for items you have and goods will be cheaper than usual. This will even show up even if others enter the same town as you: they'll see normal prices, while you'll the modified prices ebcause you are a more influent trader)
And Major Cities don't necessarily have better prices. They are randomized just like everyone else's.

ALSO,TO EVERYONE, UPDATES WILL BE EVERY FRIDAY, NO MATTER IF YOU POSTED ORDERS OR NOT.

Enter Port-au-Prince, meet governer to understand any missions we might assist them with.

Scout area around Port-au-Prince in search of any pirate activity. Pursue and engage if sighted.

You're a Pirate Hunter; you don't take missions. your only mission is "hunt pirates" and you get double rewards for beating pirates . You LIVE to hunt Pirates. Because of that, you can also see Pirates before they attack you , so no "you're ambushed by pirates" for you. Just move to an adjacent seazone to see what ships are nearby ( there's usually quite a few, and high chance of pirates)

Update 1

Because the recent lack of activity, the max number of activities was increased to 6. That means you can move up to 2 seazones away, visit a total of 12 cities or attack up to 6 enemies.

Also, everyone is given 1000 extra Gold and Cargo space is DOUBLED for all ships (ruleset will be updated with new stats) to make Trade worth the effort.

Another change is that now, prices are the same everywhere. They will be different every week, but will be the same everywhere. Traders will see different prices as their Trade Influence rises.

Current prices:

Type : Buying Price (buy from the port at this price) / Selling Price (if Buying price is bigger than selling price, you can't sell back to the port something you've just bought, but can sell something you already had before.)
Cheap Goods: 6 Gold / 8 Gold
Normal Goods: 19 Gold/ 18 Gold
Expensive Goods : 55 Gold/ 67 Gold
Illegal Goods: 61 Gold/ 28 Gold

At the beginning of every week, all adventurers will scout the area near the port they're in, so you will be technically outside your port.

More Hideouts have been added for Pirates. Also, there's a chance Corsairs will get the mission to attack a certain Hideout.

========================

Everyone who is in the same seazone as their nation's named capital (Cat Island, Eleuthera, Port-au-Prince, Biloxi ) can see that two trader convoys owned by their nation pass by. Also, their nation's Admiral patrols the waters in the area.

Everyone who is NOT in their original seazone has different encounters....

-Cyprian Hacklett sees 1 Dutch Pirate Hunter, 2 Spanish Corsairs, a Pirate Convoy and an English Trader.
-Paul de Graaff sees 2 Dutch traders, a Dutch Corsair, a Pirate Convoy, and an English Pirate Hunter.
-Diego Rodriguez sees an English Royal Convoy, an English trader, a Spanish Trader, a Pirate Convoy and a Spanish Corsair
-Edward Clark sees a French Pirate Hunter and a Pirate Convoy (altough I got your orders in advance, which means your current location and convoys in your area are irrelevant )

Fight on!

Sail to and Enter Dutch Port 4. Purchase 9 Expensive Goods (495 Gold, I believe?).

Assuming this is allowed, which I think it is...

Sail to and enter English Port 1. END TURN.

...otherwise, END TURN in Dutch Port 4

Assuming this is allowed,

Buying from a port and selling to ANOTHER port in the same turn for profit? Well, yes, but you either drain off the town you've bought from of goods of that type, or you'll simply be refused to sell that kind of goods in the towns you subsequently enter in that turn. Imagine you sell cookies on the side of the road in Boston and suddenly some dude comes and sells you all the cookies that exist in the US. You would't accept, believe me, mostly because you don't have the money to pay for all the cokkies he sells you. Just like in the example, the merchants in towns have a limited budget, and they're not all morons, so they won't take too much of your stuff, especially expensive and illegal goods . But you CAN do this with cheap goods and sometimes with Normal Goods.

If I have time spent in my next turn after repairing, Edward Clark goes out and looks for a new catch.

I'm not selling yet ;). According to your price list, on this turn, Expensive Goods cost 55 and sell for 67 Gold, and therefore (also according to your updated rule set) can't be sold yet. However, as one of my missions was to reach English Port 1 with 9 Expensive Goods, I have purchased the goods and am awaiting the next turn to see if they can all be sold at one location (if not, I'll just sell them off one unit at a time to multiple ports, which I would expect to be acceptable.)

Erm... I forgot about this. My orders, to be carried out as much as possible with my available actions, are:

Sail west to the Sea Zone adjoining French Havana. Attack and defeat any pirate convoys in the area. If none are to be found., hunt up the west coast of Florida. Once dropping below 90hp, put into the nearest English port for repairs.

this is dead because of player inactivity. With your orders, I now have a total of 3. Out of 10. I already deleted the update templates.
