Pit Boss Avalon game thread

OK The last thing I troed resolved the situation. I restored my router settings from a backup and all worked well. So something / someone changed a router setting that prevented it from passing the port 2056 UDP to 192.168.1.100. Anyway the restore seems to have fixed, and so we may continue....

Me too.

Right after I connected to another PTBS game.

While trying firstst time today to connect it didn't work, but after a couple of minutes I could connect without problems. Strange. This has happened sometimes before in this game, too.

I actually got in first try this morning, finally. I've made sure to queue up next turn's move as well, just in case I have trouble over the next day.

I'll try again tonight - lucky I queued up quite a few turns...

I would suggest to Host to use connection maintance programm.

I suspect connection from outside droping and it is not registred with host.

This programm solve simular problem in OOB second game.

OK I will find and install a 'maintain connection; program- but therouter log does not show any disconnection. As you see the Uploader has no problem uploading- its just the incomming that has problems. I will try anything to resolve as this game is starting to become interesting.

On another subject. Is it deemed 'fair' to communicate outside the game. ie If I hav eno contactact with a player in within Civ, are excannges of maps and other info (eg via email) deemed acceptable?

In my opinion I think it is unfair and agains spirit of the game.
One can not trade maps befor paper or trade parts of maps in game, so such actions probubly should be pronhibited.

Sorry, but the server was left unattended for a few days and went dead about mid day today. I have therefore reloaded Sundays game (ie we lost 24 hours) as so many of us could not get in.

I will continue to host this game but can not resolve the technical problems, so if anyone has a better chance of hosting then I wiould be willing to foster Avalon out. If not then I will continue as best as I can.

Is it BT? Is it Linksys? Is it me? Possibly all three!

I have had many problems getting my Civ IV game to work. It freezes after about 2 minutes of play. Nothing has changed on my computer, so I dont know what the problem could be. It only is a problem for Civ IV. I can play Warlords fine. I tried reinstalling, changing settings and even taking apart the computer with no positive results. Unfortunately, I am going to have to withdraw from this game. Please find a replacement player for me.
