Pit Boss Avalon game thread

I'll be away until Monday or Tuesday night. I've set myself as AI, since I wasn't able to queue up what would be built next turn, so I'll let the AI move it for the couple of turns that will pass by until I get back.

Are we talking about the right game? Civstats shows you as having completed your turn 30minutes ago.

Ok, so I'm attempting to take over for IglooDude (who PMed me the passwords and contact IP/address), but thus far I'm unable to connect to the host - just tried now 1am ET. Timed out. Now this is my first attempt to connect to a vanilla pitboss game, though I have had a successful Warlords pitboss connection to my name. Thoughts? Advice? Something I might need to change? (and yes, I DID change back to the vanilla CD).

Or is the server just down?

Server up.
You need to connect running Vanilla civ. You can do that if you Use original CD from Vanilla.

I was just able to connect... and a new turn JUST about to start.

Argh - that's two times straight that I'm getting the server timing out. I have a lot of stuff queued up, so it won't kill me, but I'd like to get back in! :)

The normal reset does not cure.

I have 8M BT broadband, via WAG54GX2 Router, Dell 8200 Wireless.

All firewalls checked (I tested with all off)
Connection is good

All ports set correct anredirecting to local IP

Using NOIP, but test with direct IP.

The result is the same: Pitboss will not answer.

The computer uis used for nothing else bu pitboss aand nothing appears to have changed. So soory server is down. I spent the last hour trying to fixand must go to work now, and will try again. I will leave set up in case it decides to answer.

I have note a huge amount of unexplained traffic through my router overnight and need to investigate that.....

I think you problem does not come from pitboss itself, but from your connection.

In my expirience many ISP tand to drop connection if there is no trafic on it, especially at nigth.

To figth it people useally use rundom internat access program to keep connection alive.
