Realmsbeyond is currently setting up a Civ4 Pitboss for new and returning players. Settings are FFA on Standard speed with the (small, non-invasive) balance mod CloseToHome. RB Pitboss games are played on handcrafted and balanced maps. If you are interested in joining you can ask for an experienced RB player to act as an advisor. This is however entirely optional. We would greatly appreciate signups from players want to test themselves in asynchronous Civ4 multiplayer!
What is Pitboss?
Pitboss is an asynchronous multiplayer game mode. The game runs on a dedicated server. You can log in once or more times during each turn at any time to play your turn. The turn rolls once all players have ended their turns or when the allotted turn timer is up. RB Pitboss turn timer is almost always set to 24h. During wartime a turn split is enforced to avoid double moves. If there is a lot of warring and/or in lategame turn times can be increased to 36-48h.
