Pitboss game within the team

Shutdown schedule: A new turn will be starting around 1700 MST (gmt -7) today. The request from grs is a very sensible one, by stopping just after start of a turn, it guarantees everyone will have a good shot at the next turn in their respective time zone, because almost a whole day will remain on the clock. So assuming I'm home then, I plan to let the turn click over, contact anyone who happens to be online to let them finish, and then save and shutdown. To reiterate, the purpose is to keep anyone from gaining or losing from network outages while I'm gone which seem to be back with a vengeance the past week.

My wife wanted to go out for dinner (it's Mothers Day in the US) so this delayed shutting down the server until there was about 20 1/2 hours on the clock. When I get back we can either reload from the autosave (but falling back for those who got in and played" or from the 20 hour save. It turns out the wall clock time of the game restart will be about this same time, so as far as time zones go, the restart will leave everyone the same number of hours left at the same time of day.

I'll go by comments in the thread when choosing what to restart.

20 hours in pitboss time is about 23 hours in real time anyway, so it should be fine. ;)

I second that. In honor of your return, I will sacrifice 50 warriors at the temple of.... hmm, nevermind. His temple was destroyed.

Your gracious offer is accepted. That little icon of a box which is wrapped up in a bow performs the necessary function.

Me too.....
Welcome back DS!

Pitboss is down for a few minutes while windows update reboots my machine.

Actually, it's down for more than a few minutes. The update program didn't say it was going to take hours instead of minutes. :(

Sorry about the delay, I'll get it back up as soon as Windows stops thrashing my hard drive and goes through the auto reboot.

All this so I can compile the SDK. That's some consolation. :D
