I've read a few direct-IP pitboss game threads where it was very troublesome occasionally having one person with their firewall up block everyone else for significant amounts of time. I'm getting ready to host a public pitboss game, and I was wondering if the person running the pitboss server (and playing as a civ from a different machine on his own LAN) stayed logged in to the game constantly or for great lengths of time, or arranged for one of the other players to do so, that would prevent the problem as any player with their firewall up incorrectly wouldn't be able to connect in the first place.

Yes?

i might be wrong, but a person with a firewall up shouldn't be able to connect in the first place as they have to get through to the remotely hosted PitBoss server in the first place.
