Playground Mod

1. It has about the same defense of the other units of that time, but weaker offense.
2. I'll playtest them tomorrow, if I'm able to finish up all my homework and study for finals.... Stupidest idea ever, having finals after Christmas break.

1. Ah. Then make it 5 shields less than the average. (Bleh. Need that unit compilation list to figure out the most efficient way to work these things.)
2. Our school changed it so that it's before winter break sometime before I went to HS. But it does make the last 2 weeks after winter break fairly useless. (Most teachers cut it off 1st semester entirely, others keep it on, but we hardly have anything to do.)

I've played until getting the Barbarian War State gov so far. Here's a little breakdown of the tech pace:

-I had researched my first tech (Fast attack) about the same time the Girls had gotten construction, and everyone else had gotten transports (Or at least the beginning few techs.)
-I researched 2nd tech (Unconventional Tactics) around the time the Girls got tactics, and everyone else got 2nd grade.
-My third tech (Barbarian Rule) was the first that I could research without it taking 40 turns (Instead, it only took 30 something turns. ) I got it a few turns after the Girls entered the 2nd age, and everyone else was researching 3rd grade.
-Divide & Conquer is expected to take 12 turns at 90% research rate.

I'm guessing I'll enter 3rd grade a bit after everyone else. The techs for the first age could maybe be made a little cheaper, so the gap between civilized people and barbarians doesn't get too big, but the first ages techs seem mostly okay at the moment.

Oh, and colonists are useless. By the time ya get them, most of the worlds been settled. They probably should be moved to an earlier tech.

And the Barbarian Horde needs to be made cheaper. Having to take over twice as many turns to build my explores, settler escorts, and rouge kid hunters than everyone else really slows down expansion. Yes, it'll make the AI go crazy with building them, but isn't that the whole point?

Wow. Our tech placement costs actually worked for once?

K. So colonists need to be changed to be earlier. And then people would be fighting the unpopular Barb's huge empire to get land. :yup:

K. That's good.

Oh yeah. And I finished the Flaming dude I posted earlier. Now it's time for me to add the General units. :)

Yup. Is not the first time either. If you play as the staff with accelerated production on, the tech placement matches up exactly with what it should.

Hooray! Generals!

And so I don't forget this:

14. What If III, Armageddon: Freak Attack Empire (Freak Attack) vs. Senso vs. Boy Union vs. Staff/Conquest, Victory Points

Armageddon sounds fun. :)

Also, need you to finish up the unit list/chart to better catch errors and inconsistencies of unit costs/strengths.

13. What If II, The Outsiders: Boy Union-UF-Chase vs. Freak Attack-Rebs-Hikaro's group (Forgot the name....), Staff(non-playable)/Domination, Conquest, Regicide, Victory Points

Ahem!

Civ Name: Lego Republic
Adjective: Lego
Noun: Lego People

The reason I use that term is because my faction went through numerous name-changes throughout the various Lego wars.... It started out as New Revolutionaries, who were fighting to overthrow the evil president-turned dictator, George Bush (the first one, not this one, although he's evil, too), then when Sauron was awakened shortly after Bush's final defeat, it became the Alliance of Free Peoples (which is why we included the Forestmen as elves... We even had a tree-top city, ala Lothlorien, taking up a whole 10" square lego baseplate for them to live in). After that, during the war against Regis Blackkar, during which our faction liberated the Eastern Seabord states (as well as Kentucky and Tennesee), Canada, Alaska and China (we used a Civ-II like system for resolving battles for control of provinces and states), it was known as the United States of Chino-America. After a final cataclysmic war that involved all-out matter-antimatter warfare, the survivors banded together and formed the Free Federal Republic of America, which consists of PA (although recent battles involve driving the invading barbarians of Nihu-Yohk out of the northeast regions of the state), MD, WVA, VA, DEL, NC, SC, GA, and FL...

Continuing Barbarian testing. Finally entered 3rd and 4rth grade, followed closely by GWC (They're free tech was Diplomacy)
And it looks like soon I won't have the Girls to gauge my techness off of, as they're being slaughtered by the GWC (They got a really, really good start, and have way more cities than anyone else on the small continent) I'm trying to get some cities from the Girls, but I just don't have enough troops to fight (The expensiveness of Barbarian soldiers, plus the sub-par start I had, plus the fact that I'm spending a large deal of my production colonizing an island I just found means I only have four soldiers in the field right now)

Barbarians don't have any improvements to make their cities grow beyond size 6 or 12. Dat probably should be fixed, since they're supposed to be uberly populated.
And the Barbarians need a few more resources, cause they barely getting any right now.

And I just saw one of the most aweseomest things ever in civ3. A senso skeleton warrior was standing next to a rouge camp when an uprising occurred. I assumed it was just going to die fastlike, and move on. Well, the soccer players attacked, and by the fighting was over, all the soccer players were dead, and there were now five skeleton warriors.:crazyeye:

1. Really? No Aqueduct-esque buildings? I thought they did... I'll put some in that come in really early I guess.
2. Well, they'll probably get some bonus resources because they probably don't need resources restricting their units.

Rawr. Borg-like assimilation. :)

Yeah, Senso's having fun this game. The started out near a bunch of rouge camps, and rouge camps seem to be popping up everywhere around there territory. Thus, Senso has approximately 20 billion skeleton warriors, none of which require any support at all.:assimilate:

Well, the test barbarian game failed after the GWC sent in a swarm of 20 mechanical infantries attacked me and overwhelmed my massive army of of 5 soccer player teams and two home guards. My entire cores been lost, and all I've really got were a few small cities and some faraway island I'd colonized.:wallbash:

It seems they need cheaper units... So what does that mean with tech advancement?

No wait, I lie! I can upload it today!:D

Theres a few obvious mistakes (UF Mercenary Officer and Fortress Guards are way overpriced, and the GWC Mechanical Infantry is too cheap) But it doesn't look too bad for a still-being-worked-on-version.

Yayness. :)

Now I can start doing stuff with this! :D

Provide a detailed history of your faction (must be real, or real enough. No imaginary factions).

I can fill in the blanks if it's detailed enough.
