Okay, so I have SimCopter, which crashes repetedly on XP. It never lasts more than 20 minutes.

I did some research, and found out Streets of SimCity, which is similar, uses a graphic engine called Glide which is no longer used. I don't know about SimCopter. I tried a Glide wrapper, but it didn't work. I also tried compatibility mode, which didn't work, and also downloaded a demo, and that didn't work.

Has anybody else tried anything that worked?

I'm also considering making an open source clone of SimCopter, but I'm not really good at coding. If I do, will anyone help?

Thanks. :) :goodjob:

If the game doesn't support any other renderers (one that old should have a software mode, surely) and you can't get the wrapper to work you're basically SOL.

Of course, you could always pick up a Voodoo3 on eBay, drop it in an old Win95 computer and go to town.

Looks like it'll run in Wine. Funny how Linux has better backwards compatibility with Windows than Windows does. Believe it or not, there is a version of Wine for Windows, if you don't feel like trying out Linux. I suppose you could also try Wine under Cygwin under Windows.

I'll give it a try. Thanks. :)

I once tried Linux, but it was slightly confusing. However it was several years ago, so I might try it again.

Thank you!
